Dipa Basu, beloved wife of Soumen Basu (nee Chowdhury) of Calgary, AB, passed away at the age of 69 years on Monday, June 8, 2020 following a courageous battle with cancer. 

Dipa was born and raised in Kolkata and moved to Canada in 1977. Dipa’s passion for travel led her to various places around the world, allowing her to cultivate her love of historical sites and diverse cultures. Bringing friends and family together over home cooked meals brought Dipa great joy, as she was always happiest when surrounded by those she loved.

Besides her loving husband, Dipa is survived by her daughter Sudeshna; son-in-law Philip and grandson Elias in Brussels, Belgium. Dipa is also survived by her two sisters, Ruma Dutta and Rupa Chowdhury. 

Dipa will always be remembered as a devoted Wife, loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend.
 
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N. Calgary, AB T2E 2V6) on Friday 12 June 2020 from 4:00 pm to 6:15 pm.
