Condolences
I learned today (29/09/21) of Danny's passing. My heartfelt condolences.
I met Danny in 1982 when I became a patient. The union was paying and so he replaced all my fillings with gold inlays and inlays. All still intact almost 40 years later. Superb work which always draws positive comments from my subsequent dentists. "Remarkable" is the word used most.
I was preparing to return to school to eventually study law. Danny spent the hours of work discussing Dire Straights, university and professional experience. His words were a guide through my university life then and today.
He was a kind man who taught me to balance kindness and professionalism. He left a mark.

Shep, Marina, and Danny's family:
Just heard about Danny, my heartfelt condolences - Danny and I were contemporaries, the class of 1955, I remember him well, along with Jeff, Cliff, and Shep at Pogues in the mid 70s.... gone now, except for Shep, but never forgotten, all great people. Sincerely, Dave Underdahl
My deep condolences to Danny's family. I met Danny in 1985 when I moved to Calgary and he was my dentist until he retired. We had a good friendship and would often see each other at Lake Louise and share in some POW. Danny was always smiling and very good natured, he was one of those people anyone would like to be friends with. He was taken way too soon and will be missed, I am glad he was able to find a way to express himself in his painting. Peace.
Dear Mary Ann, Matthew and Josh,
We are saddened to hear of your loss f a wonderful husband, father and friend.
Our thoughts are with you during this sorrowful time.

Whether it was at Baker Lake, Road to Nepal, a ski hill or a theatre performance . . . I was always running into “my” dentist. I never run into my doctor, accountant, massage therapist or lawyer — but I always ran into Danny. That’s because we shared so many common interests — from skiing and travelling to raising kids. He was an exceptional human on so many levels but when he started booking 10 extra minutes into my dental appointments so we could just have more time to chat, I knew he was extraordinary. I miss him so.
I can't imagine the hole his beloved family feels . . .
Condolences to his family and friends. I was a patient of Danny's for years and was sorry he had to retire from work early. I'm also a long time volunteer with OYR and we was a very big supporter of the theatre company. I'll never forget his hand on my shoulder as I wept at Michael Green's celebration of life.
What a great guy Danny was! Always met me with a smile and such outstanding professionalism. What a loss to our community. Our sincere condolences to the family from the Miles clan. Kirk Miles
Danny was a longtime friend and supporter of One Yellow Rabbit Performance Theatre.
Unfailingly generous, graceful, and adept at his profession, Danny was an inspirational
man. Splendid adjectives could be collected here, and still we might not
describe what Danny was to us: a magnificent and benevolent supporter.
He was gentle and kind, and his contributions were huge and his attentions selfless.
Our deepest condolences to family, friends and to those he inspired and touched throughout his life.

Very very sad to hear of the passing of Danny. While he was my dentist for many many years - and all the gold fillings in my mouth remain today, he was a friend and a gentle gentleman. I loved Danny for his smile and laugher. He was always interested in what I was up to, and offered his sage advice on life. He was a great person, and will be missed. RIP Danny - you were a good part of my life and I think the world of you. Tears in heaven...

I met Danny back in the Fall of 2015, when my niece Gillian and I visited with Shep and Marina at their home in Calgary following our trip on the Rocky Mountaineer. Dear Ruth was also there. Danny dropped in to say hello, and I recall how sweet and friendly he was. I was very sorry to learn that he had passed away, and I extend my sincere and heartfelt sympathy to Mary Ann and her family, and to Shep and Marina and their family. I know Danny will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Our deepest condolences to Mary Ann, Matthew, Josh and the entire extended family, for your profound loss of Danny. May he rest in eternal peace. Sending love and prayers to you all.

Danny and I had the same profession, but it was as neighbours enjoying morning walks with our dogs that I came to know him.
He was an all round straight up guy - imbued with the best of human qualities - decency, honesty, sincerity and loyalty. Danny had a love of life, a positive attitude, empathy and generosity toward others. I will missing our morning visits on the hill, but am grateful for the times we shared and will never forget him. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Danny's family. You have lost a good one and I feel your pain. May you find some comfort in the heartfelt sympathy of those who share and understand your loss.
Sincerely,
Robbie Robinson
So very sad to hear this news. While I was only his pal in high school...spent many a day at Sunshine Village skiing and enjoying the cheap silver dollar steaks at the Paris Steak house in Banff with him. He was always a pleasure to be with and always put a smile on everyones face Condolences to Mary Ann and the whole family. Arnie and Susan Fine
I had the pleasure of knowing Danny for 25 year as both a client and as my dentist. I loved Danny's work ethic and his passion for so many activities and adventures. His professionalism was second to none and he taught me a lot about service. He was truly a wonderful man with great love for family and friends alike, I will truly miss his presence. Danny will not be forgotten.

We have had so many wonderful times and great memories with this great man. Especially in nature skiing, mountain biking and hiking. We'll miss Danny. Our heart goes out to his family and all of those close to him.
My condolences to Mary Ann and the rest of Danny's family.
Danny was a friend and my dentist for many years. He was a master at his craft... I have gold onlays Danny did in the 90s and every dental professional who looks at them says it is the best work they have ever seen.
I will miss seeing him at Starbucks and the locker room after a workout in the morning.
Shep, Marina, and families

My deepest sympathies to the Secter families on the passing of Danny. Although I seldom worked with him while I was a dental hygenist in Calgary, I did really enjoy the times I did work in his dental office. His compassion and caring for his patients and team members was obvious and appreciated by everyone. May you experience peace and comfort at this difficult time. Karen Kopciuk
When I stop crying I'll try again to write something.
