Obituary of Gertrude Catherine SPITTACHINE

April 24, 1922 – Westville, Nova Scotia
June 8, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Gertrude Spittachine, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at the age of  98  years.

Gertrude was born in Westville, NS on April 24th, 1922. She moved to Montreal when she married Peter in 1945. She was an active member of St. Thomas Moore Parish and volunteered for many organizations through out her life in Montreal. Gertrude had a passion for dance and enjoyed many years of retirement in Florida with Peter before he passed.

Gerturde is survived by her daughter, Janice (Barry) Andrews of Calgary, AB, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends spread across Canada.

Gertrude was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1994, her children Donald in 2006 and Marjory in 2014; parents, John Dan Currie and Catherine Campbell; as well as her siblings, George Hawes, Edna Hawes, Bernadette Macdonald and Joseph Currie.
