Condolences
A very dear friend and mentor is now gone from my life. I’ve known Joan Lehew since before she added the second “n” to the spelling of her name – about 66 years.
To Rogers, my heart is breaking for you and indeed all of the family. I know you lost a treasured friend and willing helpmate, but my gosh, what a lifetime of beautiful memories!
To the children, Lara and Larry, the grandchildren and the greatgrandchildren, I remember too well how deeply this loss cuts, and I’m so sorry. I wish there was ever something one could say to help. And for Gianna and the two expected babies, I’m saddened with the knowledge that they will have missed knowing the wonderful, loving person Joan was.
Be comforted in your shared grief and hold tightly to the love I know that binds you all. Know that the world around you and places distant are grieving with you. The world is less bright with her passing; I know colour and joy seem to be missing right about now, but I think there is a new star in the heavens that is looking down on you all – and always with love.
My love to you all, Suzanne Baker
My Dear Rogers & Family;
Our thoughts are with you for the loss of your dear life partner. Joann and you clearly had the wisdom to give each other freedom to develop individual Interests while caring on your lives as a team. You both have made a contribution of caring, love and adventure to the community that you came to call home.
Donna and I are thinking of you. Joann and you had more than 70 years together. We wish you the strength and the courage to carry on and enjoy the treasure of your lives together.
With love and affection.
Art and Donna Froese
Dear Rogers: You and Joann were always so kind to my sisters, Molly, Lani, Leslie, and to me, as we tried to settle our dad and your longtime good friend, Roy Gillespie, at Garrison Green. I'll never forget your kindness and how gracious and lovely Joann was to all of us. Roy and his wife, Boog, enjoyed many wonderful times over the years with you and Joann. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Sue (Gillespie) Bradley
Every kind word to you, Rogers. I'm sure Trudie shed a tear today, Joann was a great friend that Trudie truly treasured. Kindest Regards, Ken Turner
My sincerest condolences to Rogers and all of the Lehew family. Joann was a very gracious and sincere friend to our family and my recollections of her go back to the 60s when you arrived in Calgary. In later years it was always good to see Rogers and Joann when I came to watch the Stampeders play. They were always there when I came to sit in "our row" in the stands. She will now join my parents Pat and Frank Finn, and Patti and Jerry D'Arcy, and Roy and Boog Gillespie in the "new row in the stands in heaven".
