Condolences
It is many years ago since I first met Darol. My family used to make an annual trip from Winnipeg to Saskatchewan. Darol was dating Sylvia and was so friendly that it was like he was part of the family from the first. He would put effort into entertaining me while we were visiting and even took me along with him and Sylvia on dates. So many good memories of playing baseball, miniature golf, etc. He had a cute sense of humor and the sparkle in his eye always gave it away. He was a true gentleman and yes, a man of integrity. Last time my husband, Brian, and I saw him was at Aunt Mary's 100th birthday party. He was older and frailer but still had his wit, charm and interest in people. Because of his deep faith and God's mercy we will meet him again in our heavenly Home.

We will fondly remember Darol for being generous in relationship whether to his darling Syvie, two sons Brent and Brad, or to his extended prairie relatives. He was quick to welcome, greet, hug and include. He always enjoyed engaging in conversation including funny anecdotes. Darol was interested in how you were doing and could remember details of past updates. He enjoyed delicious meals, beautiful worship music and fellowship. We are all better people because we have memories of Darol. Our heartfelt condolences go with his dear Sylvia and sons Brent and Bradley. We know he is singing with the angels and suffering no longer and his faith has been made sight.

“We have known Darol for a very long time (decades). I, Carol, watched this love story unfold into an enduring relationship of love, commitment and devotion. Darol was very active in the Youth Group at the Free Methodist Church in Estevan and sang in a quartet with his twin brother, Dale, and friends Vic Munshaw and Don Chapman. I witnessed a keen competition on the E.C.I. track team with his brother who was also a gifted runner. Our friendship grew and when I married Gerry we asked him to be an attendant at our wedding. Over the years both of our families, despite living in different parts of the country, always were able to share many wonderful times together. Darol had a very strong and authentic faith that he lived out every day. We feel very blessed to have been a part of his life. He was a devoted husband, father, and a very caring son in law, brother in law and uncle to our children. He will be sorely missed by all of us. Till we meet again, Darol”
Our sincere condolences Sylvia, Brent, Brad, Cindy and extended family,
We are so sorry for your loss. We had the honor of knowing Darol and valued his friendship. We met at Southview Alliance Church many years ago and Ross had the pleasure of singing with Darol in the church choir, quartets and Master’s Singers. So many fond memories! Darol truly was a man of integrity and dearly loved his family( and dogs)! Our prayers are with you all and may God be your comfort during this difficult time.

Darol had a special positive energy. I remember his smile, how it radiated from him, and how he was able to lift others with his generous spirit. His love and dedication to his family, how he adored Sylvia, his playful sense of humour, and his ability to make everyone around him feel special and included are some of the things about Darol that I respected and admired.
My deepest condolences to Sylvia, Brent, Brad, and extended family. He will live on in our hearts.
