Darol CLUTE

Obituary of Darol Allan CLUTE

August 19, 1938 – Estevan, Saskatchewan
June 10, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Darol Clute, a gentleman of faith and integrity, was called home to be with his Lord the morning of Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the age of 81 years, leaving this world as peacefully as he lived.

After living the last eight years with Alzheimer’s, his sense of humour, concern for others, and his love of music remained to the end. With a song in his heart, Darol began singing with his friends as a teen and continued singing in church choirs and quartets over the years. He was a founding member of The Master’s Singers and was comforted in his last weeks listening to their recordings.

Darol was a wonderful husband and father taking great pleasure doing things with his family which always included a dog. Camping, hiking, cross-country skiing, skating and cycling are some of the many things we did together. He led a selfless life, teaching us that true strength is found in kindness, compassion, empathy and love.

He was born and raised in Estevan, SK, where he met Sylvia his High School sweetheart and love of his life.  They married in 1960 and moved to Winnipeg where their two sons, Brent and Bradley were born. It was in Winnipeg where he attended night school earning his CMA designation beginning a long and celebrated career with the Federal Public Service. Darol loved his family with all his heart and we felt it, every second of every day. It was how he made you feel that had the power to change your world. Darol loved fearlessly and lived selflessly.  He was easy to love and hard to live without. We will miss you Dad. You will always be a bright light in our lives.

Besides his loving wife, Sylvia M Clute, Darol is survived by his sons, Brent and Brad (Cindy); twin brother Dale, Gerry and Carol Bristow, Jason Bristow (Marta), Kristin Bristow Onyskiw (Jeff) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Hiram and Mildred Clute, brother Stewart, and sisters, Myrtle Foster, Norma Stefaniuk, and Berva Clute.

A celebration of Darol’s life will take place at a later date.  Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Darol’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

A special thanks to the health care providers who cared for him over the last four months, the compassion and care team of Southview Alliance for their support and prayers, and Teresa who always brought with her an extra bit of sunshine on her weekly visits.
