Condolences
Stan was and will always be near to my heart as the closest comrade in umpiring softball with my husband Chuck who died 2 days later. They had so many shared stories which are valuable as they were told over and over. When Stan met my very young daughter Romney at age 4 down at the airport diamond, he asked her what her fluffy white bear was named...she quickly replied 'mona'. This is the name of her now 89 year old grandma who always is talking...The stuffed bear has a very wide open mouth with a pink tongue protruding. I still have this bear and it always reminds me of Stan and his gentle loving way with children and people in general. I am so grateful for the times we met at Jamie's parties and how I was able to share Stan's unique personality. Thank you Stan and his family for sharing him with me.

Thank you for being an icon in the community, Stan. You were a wonderful human and you'll be greatly missed. My condolences to Stan's family, friends and loved ones. He was truly a gift unto us all.
One of the best fastball umpires ever & a great guy as well. RIP Stan
They broke the mould when they made you Stan! You were truly one of a kind and a total legend! You will never be forgotten as you touched so many peoples lives. I feel totally blessed that we met and I got to call you..my friend. You were one of the first friendliest and kindest faces, I saw when I first went to Calgary. I truly appreciated you making me feel so welcome. I always loved our chats and you had a way of saying things, that would put the world to rights. I’m so glad I got to see you again in 2019 and you grabbed those few pictures of us together. I will treasure them Stan!
What will we all do without you? Your smile, your cheekiness, your presence and that wonderful heart of yours will be sadly missed. We all thought you’d live forever! I know you will be watching over your loved ones, and your spirit will truly live on at The Bee Hive...and in all our hearts!
I will see you again my friend...but until that day comes, you enjoy yourself in that Field Of Dreams in the sky! God bless you, you beautiful man. All my love Wendy x

I’m so sorry Stan is no longer with us. I will miss the twinkle in his eyes when he was being mischievous or in the middle of one of his deep infectious laughs. Stanley-Manly, thank you for all the wisdom you showered me with over the years of knowing you. It was a privilege and honour to have had you in my life. May your kind eyes continue to twinkle and sparkle on the other side.

My condolences to the family. Stan was the nicest man one could ever meet, knew a lot about ball, too. And he played a tough game of cribbage. Rest in peace my friend.

Our sincerest condolences to Stan’s family. I can honestly say it brightened my day to interact with Stan whenever we met. A handshake and a hug were our standard greeting. I had the pleasure to be coached by Stan for few years as an Oriole, and his constant smile and positive encouragement made it more fun. Stan you will be missed my friend.
My thoughts are with family and friends. I was truly blessed to know Stan. He is a beautiful soul who touched many lives with his kindness. I will miss him dearly!

I was very glad to be reintroduced to Stan after having him as an umpire in my earlier years playing ball and then when I started playing in the Calgary Senior Men’s Slo Pitch league and being asked to be his coach on the Orioles ball team. Stan was a very kind, considerate and uplifting man. Whoever was feeling that they were having a bad game or just felt that they were not good enough for the team, was told otherwise by Stan. I am very happy to have known Stan and to share the same birthday as him. I will miss his birthday wishes. You will be missed by many Stan. My sincere condolences to the family and everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. RIP Friend
