Condolences
I worked with Brent McCowan at NEXEN - and was one of the highlights of my career. Brent was a great example I learned a great deal from.
I echo Ryan's comments - but I wished I had worked more closely with Brent in hindsight.
I only just learned of Brent's passing and, despite the years since I last saw him, the impact is undiminished.
Brent was one of the most understanding and dedicated people with whom I've had the please of working. The quality of our work lives is determined by the people around us, and mine was vastly better for having worked on Brent's team. I remain grateful for knowing him and I hope those close to him have been able to stay strong in his absence.
Dear Wanda,
Please accept our deepest condolences for the untimely loss of Brent. We just heard the news very recently.
I remember the days we were working in the Yemen ops in Nexen, he was a great gentleman, a superb support in his professional line of work and a good friend for all. He will be dearly missed by all who know him.

I was heartbroken to hear that Brent died. My heart goes out to Wanda and his daughters and to Fletcher. I worked with Brent and enjoyed his fun and genuine energy. He proudly showed me photos of his beautiful kids and dog. His life was cut too short. My condolences.
My hearts breaks for your loss Wanda and family. Brent was such a good friend and coworker at Nexen. We shared a lot of time solving application problems and I appreciate the teamwork we had. He worked hard and when it was time to celebrate the successes you always wanted to hang with Brent for his easy-going style and his sense of humor. I toasted a Scotch in your memory Brent.
Wanda and family: My sincere condolences on the loss of such a nice man. I had the pleasure of working with Brent near the end of my career before I retired. When we weren’t talking about work, he talked about his daughters.
I’m very sorry for your loss.

Sending our love to Wanda and family. ❤️ Brent was charismatic and such a gentleman. He always had a compliment for the ladies and witty comment for the guys! I want to share a story about Brent from last summer following our sightseeing adventures in San Francisco. After going to the house we (Brent and Wanda, John and Donna, Mark and Sam, Clint and Terri) rented near Carmel By The Sea in California, we noticed a beautiful piano in the foyer. Brent began playing the piano every opportunity he had. We couldn’t believe how talented he was! He really enjoyed playing and entertaining us! After a few days we realized that Brent wasn’t playing the piano, it was a player piano!! Oh he had us fooled! Brent's sense of humour kept us all laughing! We will always remember our dear friend and try to enjoy each day with fun and laughter the way Brent did. Forever in our hearts ♥️
Wanda and family:
My sincere condolences on the loss of dear Brent. Brent was a wonderful special man. I always enjoyed his company.
You and Brent were a true love story Wanda - an inspiration to all of us.
May loving memories comfort you.
If I ever needed a break from work, Brent's office would be the first I'd stop by. No matter how busy he was, he always had time to commiserate and share a laugh. His permanent smile, turned up at the corners, is the image of him that I will always remember and miss.
Brent was a solid and steady man. He was always on an even keel. I never saw him waver from his light hearted and jovial self. He was liked by all who knew him from what I saw when I worked with him. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Brent was the life of our vacations, he was a tough guy to beat on the bocce field, even when we played it on the golf course. I think his bocce game was actually better than his golf game .... Last year we spent a few week in California, we toured the USS Hornet and we had a lot of fun being in command. He was always first up for all our adventures and I will always remember how excited he was to get out on the water and really enjoy our world. He had the biggest grin on his face whenever we had a chance to get out on an adventure. That is how we will always remember his charisma and charm. He was a mentor and friend that will not be forgotten. Our thoughts for his wife Wanda, with whom we shared all his adventures, and all his family, are in our prayers.
