Sorry to hear of your loss. Donald was a very good neighbor of ours in Vilna.

and from my brother Jim Preston. Vilna Alberta
I remember you and your husband from when I worked at slave lake hospital. He seemed like a gentle kind soul. So sorry for your loss. Thinking of you
Uncle Donald and my mother told stories that helped me get a glimpse of what they were like when they were young. I could also see the world they lived in, and the world I was in at the time of the story, a bit better. This was a gift.
Uncle Donald was always kind when he interracted with me, and positive about my future. I will miss his intelligent eyes, his hearty laugh and his stories. I am honored to have experienced them.
My thoughts are with you, my cousins and Aunt.
Mrs. Calvert and family,
I will miss chatting with Mr. Calvert as he tended to his garden at Marten Beach. He always had a story to share and his love for his Joanie was always evident. He will be remembered fondly.
My deepest condolences to all of his loved ones.
Sincerely
Donna & Murray Packolyk
Remembering your wonderful dad with great fondness. My love to all of you!
I was sadden you hear about Mr. Calvert. You were my second home. I have so many good memories of the times we spent together. We always knew where to go if we were hungry and have a meal with mom and dad Calvert. I will treasure all the great memories forever. Love and prayers, Monique
Grandpa is the first grandparent i've lost and first family member i was very close to that i've lost. it was peaceful and i know he's safe and in the lord's arms now in his heavenly body, not his failing one anymore and it's comforting to know that. the last time I saw him was at our wedding, where despite his pain and aches he smiled and told us he loved us. I'm so glad my bride got to meet him before he passed on but it's still heartbreaking to be without him now. before his body began to fail he was one of the strongest men i've ever known and he was full of amazing stories he'd tell from his time growing up on a farm with his family and as a school principal and carpenter. he built his own cabin in slave lake and taught me invaluable life lessons of self defense, how to have a strong work ethic and be kind, to put others first and love your family. his mind was sharp right up to the end and he was peaceful and aware. I just wish I could have given him more hugs, spent more time with him and told him I loved him more at the wedding. I'm just glad my last memories of him are of him doing his best to smile and looking dapper in his dress clothes. I wish you all could have met him in his prime. He was everything I could want a grandfather to be and the world is poorer without him.
