Obituary of Horatio LEWIS

April 28, 1940 – Freetown, Sierra Leone
July 30, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Horatio Ayodele Douglas Emanuel Lewis. Horatio passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, July 30th, 2020 at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, AB at the age of 80.

Horatio is survived by his wife Meriam, his children: Evelyn (Sheik), Ebun (Alex), Arnie (Erica), Marcelle (Jamie), and his grandchildren: Alexandra, Josephus, Janice, Yusuf, Maddox, Alexis, and Hendrix. Horatio was predeceased by his mother Gifty Stevens-Sawyerr, his father Probyn Lewis, and his son Ola Lewis.

Siblings: Gifty Stevens and Family (UK); Gloria Elliotte and Family (USA); Dunstan Thomas and Family (USA); Donald Lewis and Family (USA). Horatio was predeceased by his sister Phebean Stevens (Sierra Leone) and his brother George Percy-Sawyerr (USA).

and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers and staff of Unit 57 at the Rockyview General Hospital for the excellent care and compassion for Horatio.
