QEPD
When I visited Calgary to be with Frieda last Christmas, Bruce and I had the sweetest conversation about family and migrating to Canada. I got introduced to the family and when I went to the living room to pet the dog, Bruce walked up to me and made me feel part of the family. I want to thank Bruce for the warmth he shared with me.
Jacco (Frieda)

One of my favourite memories of Opa (Bruce) was when Marshall and I were still very young and he was driving us home from his house. He took the shortcut to our house which involves an illegal U-turn and we ended up being pulled over by a cop. I watched from the backseat as Opa talked his way out of the ticket saying some things along the lines of "I am just a poor old grandpa trying to drive his grand kids home!" Of course Opa was still sharp as a tack, especially years ago when Marshall and I were kids, and he knew exactly what he was doing when he made that turn. Opa did not get a ticket.
My love and condolences to you Oma (Gerda), Opa will dearly missed.
Love, Frieda

Emilio
Querida Gerda, primo Julio, Mara, Randy y Lisa:

Dear Gerda,
My sincerest condolences on the passing of your beloved husband Bruce. I will always remember the story you told Lila and me about the time you were in the car and you felt Bruce was speeding and was stopped my an officer. You said the officer let Bruce off without a ticket because you were so upset that Bruce had been speeding. It was a lovely story and always leaves me with a smile when I think about this incident.
May Bruce Rest In Peace and may you always have only the fondest memories of your life together.
Hugs,
Reva
I remember Bruce as a man who loved life and loved his family. He was outgoing, cheerful and always rose to the challenge particularly when playing bridge. He and Gerda made a great team and my heart goes out to her as she adjusts to so great a loss.
Love and Peace,
Phyllis Hawley
