Condolences
My condolences to family and friends of Kurtis. I met Kurtis at the ICSC conference in Whistler, and we’ve only met a few times but his positivity and warmth made a great impression. He was very excited to be moving to Vancouver later in the summer, so the next time he was in town we enjoyed a nice lunch at Granville Island and I could tell he was a rising star. I’m so sad to hear this news.

Dear Laurie and Perry, we were so profoundly saddened and shocked to learn of Kurtis’ death. We have known him for so many years, such a wonderful, polite, brilliant and lovely young man. He will be such a loss in so many peoples lives. He was indeed a light. We send our love, hugs and prayers. Yashu and Pat.
When we first met, though less than two years ago, I immediately recognized his passion for architecture and his technical engineering education.
I must say I thoroughly enjoyed our professional discussions where his eagerness was always present, never equaled in my five decades here in Calgary.
I was pleased to learned that he was being transferred to Victoria. My wife and I, too, were planning to move out there ourselves.
We could have continued our fulfilling discussions.
But no longer.
What a loss to our profession!
I leave with the hope that many others too, have experienced his magnetic enthusiasm.
God Bless!

It is with shock snd sadness that I read of Kurtis’ sudden passing. Despite the many years, I remember Kurtis at Louis St. Laurent School as a most intelligent, athletic, and caring young man. My heart and prayers are with you Laurie and Perry at this time of your great loss.
