Candace Prokopchuk of Calgary, AB, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the age of 45 years.

Candace was born in Edmonton, AB, on January 4, 1975. She moved to Calgary in 1994 where she started a career in law, first as a legal assistant and then as a paralegal.

Candace spent the majority of her career with Alberta Justice Legal Services, where she held many positions, eventually paralegal and Office Manager, a position she held until her death. She excelled at her job, was passionate about the work she did and was respected by her coworkers. She was a member of the AUPE and for some time served as Union Steward.

Candace enjoyed nature and was very passionate about music. She loved to travel and most of all, she loved to laugh and enjoy the simple things in life.

She will be most remembered for her strength, courage and her ability to handle adversity. Caring, selfless and hardworking are other adjectives to describe Candace. Forever remembered for her integrity, loyalty and honesty. Candace got through life armed with will and determination and grace too.

Besides her loving spouse, Darren (Kyra and Aidan), Candace is survived by her son Curtis and her daughter Kaya (Thomas); brothers, Richard (Victoria) of Calgary, and Lyle of Veregin, and sister Kimberley (Evan) of Edmonton. She is also survived by her father Norman and his wife May; as well as nieces and nephews, Megan, Sophia, William and Elan, and many extended family members and her numerous friends.

Candace was predeceased by her mother Barbara.

Her family would like to thank the staff at The Tom Baker Cancer Center and the many people for their support during her battle with Melanoma.
