Obituary of Bertha Lorraine KANE (nee Harvey)

February 23, 1930 – Winnipeg, Manitoba
August 24, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

The family of Bertha Lorraine Kane (nee Harvey) are saddened to announce her passing Monday, August 24, 2020 at the age of 90 years.

Born in Winnipeg, MB, Lorraine moved with her family at an early age to Calgary, where she lived her whole life. She met and married the love of her life, Daniel Noel Kane, and together, they raised their three children. She and Dad enjoyed many holidays with their children and grandchildren, the memories of which we will hold dear to our hearts forever. Her love of laughter, a great sense of humor, and her “Irish temper” will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew her. She was well-known for her pull-apart cheese bread and butter tarts, which were always a hit wherever she went. Lorraine was a well-loved and respected resident of the beautiful Grand Seton Village, a home she was so proud and happy to be a part of. She will be dearly missed by the friends she made there.

Lorraine leaves to mourn her passing, her son John (Madeleine) their children, Heather (Lindsay) Dagenais, Melissa (Jeff) Henderson; her great-grandchildren, Zach and Arwyn Dagenais, and Parker and Aiden Henderson; her daughter Dianne Mullan (Greg) and son Darren (Renata). She is predeceased by her husband, Daniel (Dan), parents, Bena and Matthew Sylvester Harvey; sister, Vivien Kaszas, and son-in-law, Thomas (Tom) Mullan.

Due to COVID 19 restrictions, a private memorial will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Lorraine’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

Special thanks are extended to the caring staff of Units 68 and 78 at South Health Campus.
