Condolences
Aunt Nettie has a very special place in my heart! I had been hired as the kindergarten teacher at Westview Baptist Kindergarten, and had acquired an old autoharp a few months earlier. I called Aunt Nettie for some advice about playing this instrument, and she invited me over and gave me great advice and encouragement! Her kindness was like a warm embrace every time we had the joy of being with her and Uncle Frank. I have saved her recipe for "Creamy Peanut Butter Pie" - who ever heard of such a decadent thing?!! I loved the brown seedy buns she served us and have that recipe, too. Each time I was with Aunt Nettie, I felt the calm self-assurance that I had always loved in my own dad, her brother, Dave. Her whole being just emanated gentle love for and appreciation of me as we interacted. If I could think of a person who was an example of "God with skin on," it would be my Aunt Nettie.
My heart is so often blessed with sudden memories of my mom in some situation from our past and I miss her so much. I pray for all Aunt Nettie's family to have the comfort of wonderful memories of their mom, a truly beautiful woman of God.
With love and sympathy,
Kathy and Alex Neuhauser
Aunt Nettie and Uncle Frank were always very warm and kind to us. We have fond memories of visiting them with our children, and playing dominos and eating Aunt Nettie’s delicious squares! She will always be remembered. Our sincere condolences to the family.

We always enjoyed visiting with Uncle Frank and Aunt Nettie. She was always ready with a smile and a big hug. We had the privilege of getting to know them better when they attended Highland. They are now together again. love Ernie and Joyce Unruh
Words may not heal the pain of losing someone
who was close to you.
May God's blessings & the memories of your Mom support you.
My favorite memory of Aunt Nettie is her sitting at the edge of the bed @ bedtime, with her guitar, & singing "Life is like a Mountain Railroad". (This was before she was married & she had come to help my mom with the twins, who were very young at the time).
Her smile & gentleness is something that really has made an impression on me.
Sincere condolences to all the family. Nettie was a wonderful neighbour to all of us and a great piano teacher to our daughters.

Nettie was famous with everyone on Vincent Place for her delicious muffins! She delivered them in times of happiness and times of sadness. Mom and I will always remember her walking over to the house with a tray when company came from Holland, many times over the years, and when my Dad was dying years later. Nettie and Frank came to the Hospice and Nettie played her little piano, and we all sang hymns. Although we have not seen Nettie in years, those memories will always be with us.
