Condolences
Hello there, I only recently heard about Glenn’s passing. I am so saddened to here this news. Glenn was the person who gave me my first job in Alberta. In fact, I was visiting Rocky View after an interview with another board which discouraged me. Glenn was open to chat with me, and after a 60 minutes of discussion Glenn offered me my job at his school. It was the best start to Alberta schools I could have hoped for. Over the years he spent numerous opportunities to encourage me and assist me in moving forward as teacher and as an administrator. Glenn was integral in moving Rocky View Schools forward in his expertise. I always appreciated chatted with him. Blessings on you and family.
Sincerely,
David Smith
So many memories of my teaching days at Springbank High(1981 - 87) and then at Airdirie Elem for the next two years. Life moved us in different directions but I remember not just the professional aspects of our lives but the times outside the classroom. Moving Glenn and Virginia into their new home in Cochrane, celebrating the birth of their first child Evan and carpooling to work through many winter storms just a few highlights. They generously took care of our daughter as young teen one time when we needed a reliable caregiver. She still remembers staying with them. I also made the christening gown for Evan and hope it is still remembered.
We tried to keep in touch over the years through letters and photos but our lives have spanned several moves. I will always remember Glenn with great fondness. Words cannot express all my sadness but also the thankfulness for having had him as a part of our lives for so many years.

I have so many wonderful memories of Glenn from our life together from when we started our relationship when I was 17 and he was 18, through to the highlights of our our life together, our three children, Evan, Tessa, and Emma. I had never seen Glenn happier than he was after the birth of each of them. He also loved our cats who were very special to us - Calico and Ebony, and Bandit. We also shared two Cairn Terriers with our children - Wizard and Sasha.
We didn't have a lot of money in those early years, but we loved spending time at Glenn's family's cottage at Wasaga Beach and my parents' home and my brother, Laurence's, home at Deanlea Beach, and visiting my sister, Sally, and her family in Caledon East, and later in Huntsville. We also later spent many happy times with Glenn's sister, Cathy, and her family, and his brother, Dave, and his family. I will always remember these and our fun times with friends. We were fortunate to be able to visit Europe, including Britain, three times before we had our children, and those times were unforgettable. I will always remember you with love, Glenn.
- Virginia (married to Glenn for 22 years)
Although it has been many years, I remember our early adventures as 3 couples (you and Virginia, Chris & Marianne, Ray & I) with great fondness. Life took us all in different directions, but one of my favorite memories is spending the weekend with you and Virginia in London and enjoying Macbeth! You brought joy and kindness. Thank you.
