My friend Stephen and I shared common bonds and allegiances, thoughts and ideas, but none more than our need to serve and assist our fellow Canadians through our Association. Steve's passions and skills helped us to motivate and direct our team; his enlightened grasp of the strategies and concepts that we needed to advance our cause were innovative and refreshing, yet he never pushed or cajoled, instead he persuaded and convinced, leading from the front. Yet like a true leader, he wanted input and consensus, and in his quiet, methodical way he achieved it. There is a giant hole in our organization now, as there is in our hearts; for those those of us that had the honour of knowing him also know he can never be replaced. Somewhere, out there in the blue yonder, Steve is now flying,- reaching out to touch the face of God. Fair winds and blue skies, my friend. At the going down of the sun, we will remember you!

Impassioned, motivated volunteers are increasingly difficult to find, but we were fortunate Steve stepped into his roles with vigour. It was so gratifying and rewarding to see someone like Steve work so very hard to help strengthen the RCAF Association for a brighter future. He will be missed, but his passion and motivation will live on in the work of others who, like Steve, believe in our mission. Thank you Steve, and godspeed.
