Obituary of Helen Ann STEWART

September 19, 2020 – Cochrane, Alberta 

Helen Ann Stewart of Cochrane, AB, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the age of 73 years.

Helen was born in Scotland, on June 10, 1947. She immigrated to Canada as a young woman, settling in Canmore with her beloved husband Hugh and two daughters, Karin and Lynne. They spent many wonderful years in Canmore before moving to Cochrane in 1993. Helen was a skilled crafter, many new babies have arrived home wrapped in a blanket made with love by her hands. Time spent with Hughie in the beautiful garden they created together was always at the top of her list of things to do. Memories made with friends on the many cruises/trips they took would always bring a warm smile to her face and the warm breeze of the Caribbean was her happy place. Helen’s grandchildren were her pride and joy, pictures and mementoes of them could be found all over the house.
 
Helen is survived by her loving children, Karin Schneider (Vince) of Bashaw, AB, and Lynne Walker (Jon) of Warman, SK; grandchildren Amanda and Shawna Schneider of Bashaw, AB, and Alexander and Sara Walker of Warman, SK; sister-in-law Diane Fiddler (Randy) of Canmore, AB, nieces and nephews, Blake Horbay (Jen), Lesley-Anne Horbay (Jayne). Helen was predeceased by her husband Hugh Stewart Jr., her parents, Matthew and Helen Warnock, and granddaughter Dana Schneider.
