Obituary of James (Jim) Alexander ARMSTRONG

July 19, 1936 – Dauphin, Manitoba
September 21, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Jim Armstrong, beloved husband of Lynn Marie Armstrong (nee MacDonald) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020 at the age of 84 years.

Born and raised on a farm outside Dauphin, Manitoba, Jim served twenty-four years as a proud member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He chose to be posted to numerous communities all through Canada’s North. Upon retiring from the RCMP, Jim spent another fifteen years with Cominco at their Pine Point and Polaris operations before eventually retiring to Calgary where he was an avid golfer, curler and active member of the RCMP Veterans Association. Many a summer included idyllic stays at the MacDonald family cottage in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, where he will rest in peace among family.

Jim is survived by his wife, Lynn, daughters, Stefanie (Steve) and Barri (Jennifer); son Brian (Stewart), grandchildren, Alasdair and Miran; and his brother Allan. He was predeceased by his parents, Harley and Maude; and siblings, Jack and Marg.
