Obituary of Susanne Michelle STEELE

January 26, 1989 – Calgary, Alberta
September 8, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

With profound sadness, we announce that Susanne Steele, an amazing mother, dearly loved daughter, special younger sister and loyal friend, took her own life in Calgary, AB at the age of 31 after a private struggle with depression.

Susanne is survived by the lights of her life and most loved daughters, Gemma and Avery, their father Dylan Wilk, his son Landen; her parents, Jim and Judi Steele; her brother Mike, his wife Kelsey and their children, James and Lila; sister Nikki; and grandfather, Bill Wells.

She was predeceased by brother Danny in 2011 and grandmother Loretta Wells in 2012.

Susanne was born in Calgary and grew up in Glamorgan, attending Glamorgan Elementary, AE Cross Junior High and Ernest Manning High School. She and Dylan started a family in 2013 with Gemma’s arrival, followed by Avery in 2015. Susanne was the most loving, caring and patient mother to Gemma and Avery, and cherished every moment she spent with her daughters. She had a remarkable ability to connect with children, which she translated into her own day home business that allowed her to spend extra time with Gemma and Avery. Susanne was also an animal lover, a generous friend and the much-loved baby of her family who always made her parents and siblings so proud. We will miss Susanne every day and are so grateful we get to see so much of her personality, values and love reflected in her daughters.
