Condolences
I had quit smoking for about 6 months when Don & I were working for OCO. We were in the boardroom for a meeting and I lit a cigarette. Don got out of his seat, came around the table, slapped me on the back & said " I knew you weren't a quitter". He was a fun guy to be around & found humour in everything.

Thank you for all the love and support to our family right now. I’ve known my whole life how special he is but I’m truly humbled by the amount of overwhelming love people are sharing for him and for us during this difficult time. Your kind words, wonderful stories and care and concern mean so much to us. Thank you

Deepest sympathies and condolences to the family. We will always remember Donnie and his big heart, the friendly wagers on the golf course and the shots at Stonewall. Rest In Peace my friend you will be missed but not forgotten.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Sandi Kari and DJ aswell as the whole Varga family.
I Played Fox Hollow this passed Sunday and I couldn't stop thinking about you donny and all the good times we had on that course. Especially when I got to the 17th hole (where you had your 2 hole in ones). Again RIP Donny.
David Bailey JR or as Donny use to call me Weiner.
My deepest condolences to Don’s family ❤️ My heart is completely broken. Don was such a fun caring generous man. It has been several years since I last seen Don but I would think of him from time to time especially when I’m in Hawkwood (Astis) or varsity (bugaboo). Don was one of the people I had my first legal drink with and there was many more after that, he bought my oldest son his first diapers and spent many Christmas eves with my family. Don will be greatly missed. Rest in paradise Donny. GHOSTRIDERS in the sky!! ❤️❤️❤️
Our deepest condolences to Donald Vargas family and siblings. As we all grew up together Don was one of our closest neighbors, rode the school bus together and went to school together. Dan was always A cheerful and comical guy. Now he is in peace in our Lord’s house.
Donny will be greatly missed by all of us who got to know him. When I think of Donny, I think of a kind, generous, jolly man who was always pleasant to be around. I always enjoyed his silly jokes and his quiet, yet friendly demeanor. I'm extremely thankful for the happiness he brought to my family and especially to my aunt Sandy. Here's to Donny - I'll be sure to enjoy some peppermint smirnoff each Christmas in his memory :) My condolences to all of his family.
Love Michelle
We were profoundly shocked, saddened and in utter disbelief over the news of Donny's passing. You just always think there will be more time for getting together and creating many more fun memories. Where does the time go? We offer our deepest condolences to his family and to all who were close. We will miss you, dear friend!
I've met Donny almost 30 years ago. It was at that time when I was trying to fit into my new country, learn how to speak English( this one I still do) and find new friends. He quickly became one of those new friends, he was quick-witted with great sense of humour.
We were both working in construction and I had the privilege working with Donny on the same projects although in a different capacity. He was a framer and I was a cribber, that allowed me to appreciate how smart, knowledgeable ,and intelligent he was. There was nothing he couldn't build out of wood. We have spent countless hours on the golf course or in curling rink, even more hours sipping(lol) beer with other friends or having shot of sambuca or two
( sometimes tequila sometimes something else).
My heart goes out to family and friends.
Dear Donny
Even though our lives went separate ways last few years I always did and I always will consider you one of my best friends and I wish I had one more time with you so I could say to you "gimme some " , order a shot of Sambuca and sing "Yippie ya hey,Yippie ya yo"
So long my friend.

Our condolences to Don's family & the rest of the Varga clan. I have many good memories as my brother Leland & I used to ride our bikes out to the Varga farm in the summer or went skating on the slough. I stayed their many times & rode the school bus a couple of times. We always had a fun time on the farm. Worked with Don once one Sunday in Calgary when we all met over at John's place & boarded his basement. Of course, a little alcohol was consumed. RIP my old friend Don. Charles Boulanger
Harry and I met Don for the first time 49 years ago when Don’s parents along with John and Don came out to Calgary for his brother Jim’s wedding to Marina. Don was 16 years old over the years we watched him get married have two great children, divorce Melanie, then met Sandy. We have enjoyed partying with him, Harry has enjoyed golfing with him and the rest of the Varga’s. Don you will be missed by so many people, your smile would light up a room. R.I.P. our friend taken much too soon. Harry and Jan Martin
Don and Mel were our best friends back in the mid 80’s. So many kanasta nights. Coffee and laughter. We were Neighbors and such great friends. Time goes by and things change but you never forget the people who left a mark on your heart and your life. He was truly one of the good ones. My love and prayers to Kari Lynn, DJ and Mel and all who will miss him. Thanks for the memories my friend.
