Marlene SEGUIN

Obituary of Marlene Yvonne SEGUIN

March 31, 1949 – Westlock, Alberta

October 13, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Marlene (Mars) Yvonne Seguin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the age of 71 years.

Marlene was born in 1949 in Legal, Alberta and spent most of her life in Edmonton. She enjoyed traveling and gardening. It thrilled her to dote on her beloved granddaughter, Cheyenne. She had a huge soft spot for animals, and loved dogs in particular. She always had compliments and treats ready for any pooch she came across.

Though her dear friends and close family will miss her greatly, we are grateful for all the hilarity and love she brought to our lives. Her humour was legendary and she will be remembered for her numerous jokes and antics. Every holiday family dinner ended with “Good thing I ate when I did – because I sure couldn’t eat a thing now”. She also often joked that she wanted a headstone that said: See? I told you I was sick. She was always making those around her laugh.

Despite a challenging and aggressive battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), Marlene held onto her strong faith, a positive attitude and a grateful heart. This endeared her to so many of the individuals who played a vital role in caring for her. Marlene's family would like to thank the staff at McKenzie Retirement Residence and AgeCare Midnapore for the exceptional care they provided during Marlene's final years. Their efforts and kindnesses will be remembered for many years to come.

Marlene is survived by her daughter, Danielle Miller; granddaughter, Cheyenne Winter; sister, Jeannine (Raymond) Chicoine, numerous nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews, as well as many friends.

I have fought the good fight.

I have finished the race.

I have kept the faith.

-2 Timothy 4:7
