Condolences
While typing out the letters that my parents wrote to each other in the late fifties (he was a mariner in the Far East and she lived in Groningen) I noticed that in their letters a certain Rob Vaags was regularly mentioned in an appreciative way. My mother, Janny Appel-Zonhoven, knew him well, as Rob had been the best friend of her brother Johan Zonhoven (a pilot for the Dutch Air Force). As my mother and her brother have passed away and cannot show their appreciation for Rob in this register of condolences, I'll do it here on their behalf.
Warmest Regards
Robert Appel
Robert, Monique & Families,
I am so truly sorry for the loss of your father, Bob. I have such wonderful childhood memories of your parents from my days in Shaunavon and later in life as an adult. I always enjoyed every visit with your parents and learned so much from them over the many years. Bob was truly inspirational and always good for a laugh or two. Your parents both meant the world to me. May your memories bring smiles to your faces during this rough time - I know my memories do.
Warmest Regards,
Karen Cox (Trudeau)
Monique and Robert, so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing, deepest condolences from myself and the entire Innes family. Rob Innes
Monique, sincere condolences from me, Joan and Bob Gibson. We have missed our visits with both you and Robbie in Shawnessy at AgeCare Midnapore. It was always a pleasure to see you sharing special treats with your father. And it was fun to join him in the birthday party sing-a-longs. He was well loved. May the great Comforter be with you as you grief this significant loss. Diane Cox
