Uncle Don is one of my favorite person who made himself and his loved ones proud . Uncle Don was a happy man, happy Husband, happy Father and loved by all persons around him. I am so lucky to meet him and spend some time with him. He was so generous and kind hearted. He has the magic of making anyone comfortable irrespective of who you are. We will miss your facebook posts, sharing, one line comments and chats. I pray to dear god, may his soul rest in peace.
I have many childhood memories of gathering around, surrounded by cousins, to listen to our Uncle Don tell stories. His timing was impeccable, his own laughter contagious. He clearly enjoyed these moments as much as we did. One time, probably halfway through the story of “Rindercella and her mugly other and two sugly isters”, he had us, yet again, in stitches. I remember looking behind me and caught a glimpse of both his wife and his mother wiping away tears of laughter. It was at that moment I realized just how much my uncle meant to everyone. Uncle Don you have made me cry a few times over the last few days. I hope you know how much you meant to me. Thank you. Sean
Uncle Don was a true hero to my siblings and I when we were little kids. He had a profound affect on our young lives. He and Aunt Edwyna are absolutely the best of the best. He is the only person I ever met who could tell the Rindercella story without tripping on his words or falling apart in laughter. Thank you for everything you did for us. You are dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

We had the privilege of becoming friends with Don during the two years we lived in Calgary. Such a wonderful man with an amazing family. They graciously included us in family gatherings during our time in Calgary. Even since leaving, we remained friends via Facebook, and, like so many others, he made us laugh daily! Our sincere love and prayers go out to Edwyna, Jason, Nancy, and their families. Heaven now has a special, comedic angel. Jan and Lonnie Miller
Beaner, Nancy and Jason, I'm really sorry to hear about Don. I remember as teenagers, the gang was always welcome at your house. Always treated with respect and kindness - like adults. We were included without question and made to feel at home. Beaner - you and Don created a welcoming and inclusive household. Don was always willing to chat, tell a joke and hear about what was happening with you. He was the iconic neighbourhood Dad. He'll be missed.

I knew Don from back in our high school days when we rode the Danbury bus! Even though we were never considered to be close friends, I always felt a kinship with Don in his honesty, friendliness and a terrific sense of humor! My sincere condolences to his entire family!

Edwyna and Family, heartfelt thoughts go out to you in this time of sorrow ~
Our condolences to Edwyna and family on Don's passing. We have many memories of our school days together. Don was funny, loving and a caring person to his family and friends. Always a smile on his face and quick with a story or joke. Even with all his health issues he still made time to keep in touch and send jokes on Facebook. We will miss you friend. Rest in peace. Don and Helen Auramenko.
There are way too many memories to share! From all of us packed in the back of Don and Edwyna’s station wagon to go watch Stampede Fireworks, Family Reunions, Trip to Disney. Never a dull moment that’s for sure listening Dad and Uncle Don tell stories and jokes. Uncle Don was the kindest person I have met would give his shirt off his back to anyone in need. Loved his Family unconditionally He was Loved by all and will be missed by many. Bailey and Abbie will miss their “Better Joe” ❤️ RIP Uncle Don you will Forever be in our Hearts.
Don was many things to many people and was deeply loved. His descriptions of events, people and objects were so amazing. He could bring clarity to many situations with the best humor.
Don was also a very hard working man who was always ready to help friends and family. He not only wired many family homes but was “on call” to his family and friends to walk them through their electrical issues - indeed a master electrician.
A kind, loving and thoughtful man who will be missed by so many.
Rest in Peace Don.
I will never forget my Uncle Don. From his voice calling their dog Trixie.... “Where’s my dog” to being knee high to a grasshopper and him calling out for the little “potlicker”.
I could go on and on with fond memories. He was truly one of a kind.
It’s time for you to rest now Uncle.
Love Scott and family
