Condolences
I want to say good bye to a dear friend and a great bridge partner. I admired his quiet strength, his
raconteurship , his willingness to see the best in people and his kindness. One particular event illustrates Peter's generosity
of spirit.
It was during the time when my husband and I were unable to do yard work . On a gold morning in October, I called
Peter to ask if he could rake our lawn that day . After a moment's hesitation, Peter replied that he could not come
immediately ,but could be there within the hour. The doorbell rang within 1/2 hour, and to my surprise and delight I saw
Peter Kroeger.
I invited him in for coffee but Peter said that he would rake the lawn first. It was then I realized that I had called my bridge
partner Peter, instead of the lawn maintenance Peter . Peter, who knew we needed help dropped what he
was doing and came to help. What a good laugh we had over our coffee!
I shall miss Peter and wish to extend my deepest sympathy to his family on their loss.
Harold, I was so sorry to hear about Peter's passing. My condolences to you and your family. I always enjoyed meeting him at the bridge table and found him to be a real gentleman, quiet and dignified. May fond memories sustain you. With sincere sympathy, Doris Fishman
Dear Kroeger family.
I was saddened to hear of Peter’s passing.
I feel so fortunate to have known Peter and to have had the opportunity to play bridge with him as my partner, teammate and friend for many years. Peter was a thoughtful, kind, funny and sensitive man. He was always smiling and always had a positive attitude even when the bridge cards or results weren’t good. For Peter it was less about the cards and more about enjoying time with friends. The hearts and lives Peter touched were many and he will be sorely missed.
To Peter’s family, my deepest and heartfelt sympathy.
Jan McLeod
