Obituary of Graham Jeffrey LANGEN

November 30, 1984 - Calgary, Alberta
October 22, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with extreme shock and grief that the family of Graham Langen announce his sudden and unexpected passing onThursday, October 22, 2020 at the age of 35 years.

Graham was born in Calgary, AB on November 30, 1984 at the Holy Cross Hospital. He graduated from Henry Wisewood High School and then from S.A.I.T with a Red Seal in cooking that his family is very proud of.

He accomplished much through his short life and was particularly proud of his cooking and artistic abilities. Anthony Bourdain was his hero. He was a talented chef at various local high-end establishments, working along side the very talented chefs: Guy Legatt, Sean Cutler, Sterling Cummings, Colin Metcalfe, Michael Noble, Cody Sahm and many others. Graham also owned and operated his own contracting business. He was very talented in many ways, especially carpentry. He was loved by everyone at Hearth and Home where he was quite successful as a lead installer for several years. He was also trying to start his own business, “SixZero” clothing, design, and apparel; and also Recovery Evolution. “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” - Graham was an advocate for self improvement, spreading the message of hope to everyone! Raising awareness and community to anyone who’s needing hope in their life.

Graham had a passion for painting and sketching, and loved his British Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Brooklyn. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in his Studio/Control Center where his art and design became reality. Graham really knew how to enjoy himself. It was wonderful seeing him when he was relaxing. There were many vacations, including the Okanagan, and when he finally turned 21, Graham and his family, along with good friends, Butch and Heather, went to Las Vegas. He went to Hawaii (thanks to Nick Fuss), Mexico, Jamaica, Texas and a trip of a lifetime with Dan Roberts to Australia and southeast Asia.

Graham’s favourite saying was (jokingly), “Bean Dip..Purrrp!” He will be most remembered for his good looks, friendly demeanor and his beautiful smile and laugh. Graham learned his sobriety was his key to his success. He was always striving to be better and had made huge strides towards those goals in late 2019 and well into 2020.

Graham is survived by his loving mom Val Vincent and stepdad Garth Bye of Calgary, AB; and by his loving brother Mitchell (Lisa), and special nephew and niece, Harrison and Annabella of Calgary, AB; his dad Keith Langen of Calgary, AB, girlfriend Phebe, several aunts and uncles; as well as cousins and numerous great friends.

Graham was predeceased by his grandpa Ernie Vincent in 1996 and grandma Dot Banyai in 2007.
