Condolences
Although I did not see Aunt Flo very often due to the travel distance I remember her well for her kindness and sense of humour. She will always hold a special place in my heart.
Our condolences to the family.
We lost our mother on October 5th, 2020 at the age of 96.
Christel Tyson (Fred and Joan Thornton’s daughter).
Flo was a surrogate mother to my husband, Doug Engh, ever since they met in 1991 in Calgary. He recalls “She was a great cook, with a great sense of humour!”, and when I met him nine years later, he was eager to show her off to me, and me to her [I think wanting her approval of what he planned to do next :-)]. Flo was most generous and inviting, and we did, indeed, have sumptuous dinners in her beautiful condo just east of Market Mall. She went to a lot of care with these meals, and one would never guess that she had to work around diabetic restrictions. We talked about life, and her pride in her grandchildren, late into the evenings. She had enjoyed her cabin at Tall Timbers, where she encouraged Doug to jamm with his harmonica, sharing her joie de vivre. I wish I had known her then!
Please let us know when the tree is to be planted in her memory.
Shared by Doug Engh and Anitra Mamen
I have so many wonderful memories of Flo growing up as a child. She was such a wonderful person! Lots of dinners and good times! She was a fabulous host and cook .
