Condolences
Just discovered that Daphne had passed away. I was fortunate to work with her in the 90's at PanCanadian. Lovely lady. I will always remember her!!!
I'm sending you all our condolences along with warm hugs. I think of Daphne most often with my brother Ted and Heather living in their home in Silver Springs in north Calgary in the 1970's. I was a young girl then but visiting was always interesting, from Heather's little chihuahua greeting us at the door (we always had to let her come out to greet us as she would piddle a bit and it was always funny) to the lovely home that Daphne kept in those beautiful shades of blue (which is the colour I always associate with Daphne). She was invariably stylish and had a lovely laugh.
I'm sure Ted and Daphne are hanging out now and telling stories and laughing together, along with the other family and friends who have gone ahead of the rest of us.
Heather - the 'Dick Chicks' are all sending you our love and support ... and you know Grandma and Grandpa are holding you gently as you grieve and heal.
Cheryl and Ray

Heather. Sam. Our deepest condolences for your lost of your mom. Love uncle Leo and auntie Maria
I am so sorry about you losing such a beautiful, special and loving Nana, Mom and friend. Daphne will always be in heart with great love. I loved her generosity, wisdom, sense of adventure and great sense of humour. As we worked together and visited many times, I heard how much she loved every single one of you. She spoke of you all with such passion and joy.
I also remember the great laughter we shared and times of sorrow too. I am consoled by her rejoining Darren.
She was so full of life and often had the look of mischief in her eyes just before she said or did something gut-splitting funny. She was always so kind to others and worked so hard on whatever she did, from a professional figure skater at 16 to an accomplished painter later in life. But number one always, was the special relationships she had with each one of you.
You and Daphne will be in my hearts and prayers as you go through this very difficult time of deep grief.
I met Daphne in 1977 when i first arrived in Canada, we instantly hit it off as kindred spirits from England....even though she was far more posh and refined than me! ….I can honestly say that when I met Sandy and found out she was Daphne's daughter I knew
I was in a good place...…It was perfect because we had our beautiful daughter, my Star, Lacie, who makes me burst with pride. Then meeting the entire Townsend/Dick clan it felt like I found an ocean of love and friendship. They welcomed me like family. I know this all trickled down from the example that Daphne exhibited without any effort. There was nothing phony about our Daphne she was truly a woman with a great attitude who loved her family unconditionally. Daphne you will never be duplicated. your legacy will live on in all your family...Daphne you are a True Legend. Until we meet again.
BIG LOVE Always.
Ray.
Daphne was always a special person in my life. We shared many tears and laughs together and always made me feel a part of her family even though I really wasn’t. To my sister sandy and brother Gary , my siblings and my pretend sister Heather and the rest of her family which is also my family she was a special lady in my life and all I can say is isn’t it ironic. Prayers and much love to all of my family, daphne’s family and friends, she will surely be missed
