Obituary of Claude MACDONALD

July 15, 1950 – Antigonish, Nova Scotia
October 28, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Claude MacDonald, beloved husband of Shirley "Jane" MacDonald (nee Ferguson), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the age of 70 years.

Claude was born in Antigonish NS, to the late Donald and Jessie MacDonald, one of ten children. Growing up on a dairy farm in St. Andrews, NS, hard work and perseverance were deeply ingrained. Claude earned a ticket in sheet metal and later electrical. He took those skills to Halifax, Whitehorse and, ultimately, Calgary, where he settled. He worked electrical at Syncrude and various other industrial plants throughout Alberta. Finally, he spent thirty-four years in his favourite trade of all: real estate. Claude enjoyed running, skiing, camping and travelling. He was an avid handyman, always ready to pick things apart.

He fell in love with his wife, Jane, in 1976 and they married in 1980. They have two sons, Scott (Caitlin) born in 1985 and Michael (Yvonne) in 1987. He was a cherished Papa to five grandchildren. His family brought him great happiness.

He will be missed by all who knew him and forever remembered as a great story teller.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Claude’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
