Obituary of Phyllis Lillian RAFFIN

Phyllis Raffin of Calgary passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the age of 93 years. Phyllis passed away peacefully in her home with her loving family at her side after a long battle with dementia.

Phyllis was born in Champion, Alberta on August 2nd, 1927. After relocating to Nordegg, Alberta as a child with her family, Phyllis would eventually meet her lifetime friend and partner Peter Raffin, marrying in April of 1949. Soon after the two moved to Calgary to build a family and business, both of which Phyllis remained dedicated to. Her family was always first, and we were all blessed to be able to share some special moments together in her final days, the way she would have wanted.

Phyllis will be deeply missed by her son Kim, her daughter and son-in-law Shelley and Pavel; her grandchildren Justin (Kelly) and Angela (Mark); and her four great-grandchildren Sophia, Easton, Mya, and Owen; along with countless family and friends who were all touched by her love through the years. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Peter Raffin; her mother and father Clara and Dennis Ashmore; her step-father James Ashmore; and her brothers Ross and Melvin Ashmore.

Prayers will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle N.W., Calgary, AB) on the evening of Wednesday November 18th at 7PM with a private funeral mass and graveside service starting at 11am Thursday November 19th at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Calgary. Due to the current situation with the pandemic, we are restricted with the number of people we are able to host for the prayer and funeral services.
