Condolences
Even today I still reel at this news. Pat and I had known each other and worked together off and on for years. It's difficult to realize that we won't see each other again - and that he won't be taking my coat (by accident) at a Landmans' function (but I wound up with his coat - and his car keys). You will be missed Pat. Each time I wear that coat, I will think of you and smile.
So sad to hear this news. I always enjoyed Pat's company and he was an excellent Landman. He had such a great sense of humour and dry wit. I will miss having a drink with him at CAPL events.

So sorry to hear of the loss of this fine gentleman at such a young age. He contributed greatly to the work of our Land Department at Petro-Canada.
Kevin MacFarlane
I met Pat when he joined Apache Canada many years ago. Pat’s incredible business savvy and thorough knowledge of the land business, with his wide and varied experience, made him the “go to” person for everyone in the department. His guidance and wisdom was always invaluable, and he never hesitated to provide any help he could. His contribution to our land department and the company in general was immense, and he was highly respected by everyone there.
Working with Pat afforded me the opportunity to develop a relationship with him on a personal level. He and I shared many great conversations, and I so appreciated his generosity of spirit and his wonderful sense of humour. He has gone too soon and I will greatly miss him. My heartfelt condolences to Wendy and family.
Pat, old buddy, you will be missed more than you ever know. Pat was a dear friend. He was witty, funny and a larger than life character. I enjoyed spending time with him over the years. I hope to meet up with him sometime, it would be a dream come true. He left us far too early. We hereby send our heart felt condolences to Wendy, Olivia, Connor and family and wish you all well.
Doug & Teresa Hilland.
I first met Pat McCreary when we were working at PanArctic Oils in the late 1970's. We used to have a lot of fun in those days working in the Britannia building in downtown Calgary with a lot of "larger than life" characters. PanArctic Oils afforded us the opportunity to visit the Arctic and to go fishing for Arctic char on Baffin Island where PanArctic had set up a fishing camp. Pat and I often went skiing in the Rocky Mountains usually at Sunshine or Lake Louise. Over the years we had many lunches together and had many political discussions. Pat being the unique character that he was will be missed by me. Naturally when you have a friend who passes away it makes you think and I am sorry that I did not spend more time with Pat & Wendy. My condolences to Wendy, Olivia and Conner.
I worked with Pat McCreary for eight years at Apache Canada. He was, quite simply, one of the finest petroleum landmen that I ever encountered in my career. His attention to detail, business savvy and enormous storehouse of oil and gas knowledge could always be depended upon. In addition to his talent, I shall never forget Pat’s dry and clever witticisms. I often found myself chatting with him about current events and delighted in his observations. I respected him enormously and will never forget him. I tender to you, Pat’s family, my most sincere and heartfelt condolences on his loss.
