Obituary of Stella Maris Kathleen KING (née Hennessey)

November 28, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that the family of Stella Maris Kathleen King (née Hennessey) announces her passing on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the age of 93 years.

Stella Maris was born and raised in Edmundston, New Brunswick, and for many years was a valued employee of Fraser Paper Company. Following brief residences in The Pas, MB and Terrace Bay, ON, Stella Maris moved to Calgary, AB in 1977, where she resided ever since. Stella Maris worked for almost two decades at Eaton’s, where she formed many lasting and cherished friendships. In retirement, Stella Maris enjoyed reading, keeping up with world events, and spending time with friends and family. 

Stella Maris will be lovingly remembered by her children, Raymond (Dino), Anne, and Mary (Stuart); and her cherished grandchildren, Brianna and Connor, all of whom she loved dearly. Stella Maris will also be fondly remembered by her cousin Rodney Burlock, and by her many nieces and nephews. 

Stella Maris was predeceased by her husband, Charles Eric King; brothers, James, Murray, Gerald, and Francis; sister Geraldine Bell, and niece (and goddaughter) Kathy Hennessey.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no funeral service will be held. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
