Obituary of Filippo Maria ANGELINI

December 5, 1967 – Sudbury, Ontario
December 4, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Filippo Angelini, beloved husband of Anita Angelini (nee Martinovic), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020 at the age of 52 years.

Way out west, not far from the hiking trails and forests of the Rocky Mountains, with black bears, grizzlies, and a moose named Bertha, there was this fella…fella I wanna tell ya about. Fella by the name of Filippo Angelini. At least that was the handle his loving parents gave him.

Filippo, he called himself the “Dude”.

“I’m the Dude, so that’s what you call me.
That or, uh, His Dude-ness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino,
if you’re not into the whole brevity thing.”

Sometimes there’s a man...and I’m talkin’ about the Dude here. Sometimes there’s a man, well, he’s the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And that’s the Dude.

The Dude abides.
(Excerpts with modifications from the film- The Big Lebowski)

Our Dude, Filippo, was born in Sudbury, ON, on December 5, 1967. Filippo died at home in Calgary, AB, on Friday, December 4, 2020. The Dude was with his Ta (Anita) and their cherished prince, Luc. He was lovingly embraced by his family: mother Catherine Coll of France, father - Giancarlo Angelini (deceased), sister Patrizia and her husband Giovanni, and his immensely treasured nephews, Alex and Frank of France; and his many aunts, uncles, and loving, spirited, adventurous cousins in France; his mother and father-in-law, Milka and Petar of Calgary; his brother-in-law Boris and charismatic nephews, Deagan and Stone of Crossfield, AB; and by his extraordinary friends found in countries all over the world. The Dude was so very grateful for your love, friendship, and all of the tremendous adventures and joy shared.

If you would like to acknowledge the Dude in another way that feels right for you and your family, please, please do so:
•    String up some lights
•    Light a candle
•    Take a hike somewhere gorgeous
•    Crank up Led Zeppelin and be sure to do a crazy AIR GUITAR right along with them
•    Do a little ABBA groove
•    Feel the sun on your face
•    Cook a magnificent meal
•    Drink a delectable port
•    If you have a pet, go crazy and spoil them with playtime and treats
•   Talk to someone new while standing in line, sitting in a hot tub, or eating a meal (obviously more difficult to do these days but you get the idea!) because you never know – they may become a complete star in the fabric of your life.

Arrangements are being made in accordance with the Dude's wishes. Anita and Luc will share more information in the days and months ahead. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Filippo “Dude’s” obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
