Condolences
Today I am saddened and shocked to hear that my dear friend Dave Day passed away. Tina and Lily join me in offering our heart felt condolences to all Day family. We had been honoured to have Dave as our friend since late 1980’s. Dave was a great and wonderful man. He always brought laughs and cheers to his friends. Dave, you will be greatly missed by us all.
I am sorry and a shock to hear Dr. Day's passing. I have known Dr. Day several years through Prof. Lee. We were examiners for oral defence of one of Prof. Lee's graduate students. He was a very kind gentleman, our condolence to Day's family.
On behalf of the Meuser cousins- Peggy, Jamie, Patty and Gord, we offer our heartfelt condolences to the entire Day family. It was wonderful being able to spend some time with David in China in 2018, and appreciated his command of the language.
May he rest in peace.
Uncle David was a man who cared deeply for his family. What a loss to this world. His hugs were filled with love. He will be deeply missed, but his lessons of how to be supportive and compassionate will never be forgotten. I have learned so much. Rest In Peace Uncle David.
My condolences to the Day family for the loss of a wonderful man. I had known Dr. Day for over 25 years, including a time when he sat in my University of Calgary class on indoor air quality. At that time, he was already working with John Pink on air purification. We conducted some research including a successful test on the efficacy of UV-C light on moulds. He then started to investigate the use of photocatalytic technology and managed to significantly improve the efficacy, range of light spectrum and cost reduction. He paid for the development of the MorphAir 36W and had independent laboratory testing for several VOC and several bacteria, mould and virus phage. He obtained a US patent due to his innovation.
In 2020, we incorporated Kaeras, Inc., to develop his technology and to address the coronavirus and the inevitable future emerging diseases. His family, including Marilyn and his three sons are keen on continuing his legacy. We are committed to seeing his innovation become a reality to help mitigate the spread of infectious disease, and to clean all types of air pollution.
I started to attend Dr. Day’s Breakfast Club at the Calgary Golf and Country Club. The members all very much respected him. These are just two of the tributed from the members.

I am in SHOCK (just catching up on my emails). We do not know the time nor the place, but we must always live life to the fullest each day. I believe David did just that. What a loss to all of us, as he was such a kind, learned and generous soul who will be missed for sure.
Especially the wisdom and deep wealth of knowledge that he shared so freely. Will never forget his infectious sense of humour and his laugh. So sad that this COVID situation is limiting our ability to show our respects at a memorial or funeral.
Condolences to his family and sincere wishes that the good Lord will provide them with much strength to get them through this time of grieving. My wife, Noni and I will keep them all in our prayers for sure.
In sadness, Terry Schmaltz

I first met David in the late 1980’s. He was working for a brokerage house and I was pitching a potential listing company to them. Over the next 7 or 8 years, I would find myself in front of him with this or that new opportunity.
In his world, I found him to be one of the best - exceptionally bright, technically proficient and always pleasant. I liked him.
In the mid or late 90’s he joined the Breakfast Club (might be off a bit on the timing) and I have enjoyed getting to know him. I always looked forward to speaking with him.
I don’t think I ever saw anger in him, I really regret his loss and especially that of his calm, unflappable presence.
On climate change, we’ve lost another knowledgeable voice.
Rest In Peace, David.
Regards,
Christopher Hopkins

I’m so very sad to hear of your brother David’s passing, Diana. My heart goes out to you and your family xoxo - Laura K Preston
David was a kind, funny and caring cousin. We have so many wonderful memories of our Day cousins driving across the country in the summers from out west to visit in Toronto....and then David was able to join some of us ‘Meuser’ cousins in China in 2018. He was always a real gentleman... kind, thoughtful, generous.....and a very good listener.
Our sympathy and love is extended to Marilyn, the boys and extended family members.

Marilyn, condolences to you and your family from Sue and I. We are going to miss Dave. He was alway such a mentor while I starting playing handball as a junior and further on as an adult player. He gave of himself to help the handball community in so many ways. I am proud to call him a friend.
Love Adrian and Sue
David was a great brother-in-law and a wonderful uncle to my children. He cared deeply for all his family and was so supportive and generous to all of us. His research and strong opinions always made us think. We had so many tasty family Chinese meals together over the years. We will miss those. We will remember David with great affection and deep appreciation of his warm caring spirit. .
I worked with David in the 80's at "Charlton Securities" and spent many interesting and enjoyable, as well as informative, hours in conversation with him. He truly was a "lovely bloke".

Dave aka Dr. Day was a long term client of our firm. Dave is best described as the consumate professional.. Always on top of his game, reliable, honest, tons of integrity, truly old school. Our go-to resource if we had to provide a referral for one of our clients for the services Dave provided with his company. A very intelligent individual with a tremendous depth of knowledge in his field of endeavor. He will be truly missed by our team, this seemingly is the end of an era. Dave will always be remembered as the finest of gentlemen, with a passion for perfection. Rest in peace, Dave!

Dr. Day was like a grandfather to me. My family and I will always remember him.
Dave is a honest, hard-working and trust-worthy friend. We/I am sorry for your loss and my condolences to you and your family during this time. It's so surreal and I am taken back that he is "gone". I will miss the many laughter and conversations that we have shared.
