Condolences
We had the pleasure of crossing paths with Helen and Ernie throughout the years. First with the music recitals at Mrs. Sandilands. Again with work at Standen’s Springs and then our memorable trip to China. Ernie always stood out with his quiet, gentle manner and his quiet sense of humour. We embrace the memories of Ernie

Dear Helen, Peter, Alan and families
What a great loss to our community with the passing of Ernie. We will miss his familiar face around our neighborhood for the past 35+ years as he was such a gentle soul
and always willing to help out in any way. Ernie played an integral role in the Calgary Centre for the Performing Arts and on his advice, we have been patrons since 1985.
We've also had the pleasure of Ernie & Helen attending several of our family's functions throughout the years and will undoubtedly miss him.
Our heartfelt condolences & blessings to the Hawryyshen family.

Ernie was such an awesome Rotarian!
I was so happy when he joined Chinook Rotary Club. My pal! We'll sure miss Ernie.

We are so sad to hear of Ernie's death. Harvey enjoyed working with him on the Calgary Airport and viewed him as a sage mentor. We remember his strong commitment and his humor. You and your family are in our hearts and prayers.

Dear Helen, Alan, Peter and families,
I am so sorry for the loss you have suffered. May your hearts be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate the well- lived life of a wonderful husband, father, uncle and grandfather. A highly talented and loving gentleman who was both distinguished and distinguishable. He always held my total respect. I will never forget him and pray for peace for his family in their tremendous loss. Go with God my dear friend.

We have fond memories of getting to know Ernie and Helen when we first moved to Calgary. Ernie took us under his wing and guided us through many happy times with the Downtown Rotary Club. He was a kind and generous man and a great neighbour.

it was always most pleasant to visit with Ernie at Rotary lunch - he was always a quiet and reserved gentleman and very interesting.
Gene goes back to the days of Helen and Rotary Anne's fellowship and Ernie's sometime guiding hand.

Helen & Family,
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Ernie. We enjoyed getting to know both of you over the last few years. I always enjoyed seeing Ernie out for his walks, and the times he would stop by to chat to us. I know that Rose really enjoyed the special walks that Ernie would take her on in the neighborhood. Our thoughts & prayers are with you. Jim & Lori Ryan
On behalf of the Rotary Club of Calgary Chinook, and personally as a fellow member, we would like to express our condolences to the family of Ernie. We have lost a wonderful fellow, a true gentleman and are saddened by the loss.
Ernie contributed many hours in parking at Spruce Meadows which was a source of funds for our club to assist us in our efforts to support various charities both in our community as well as Internationally. His smiles were always evident whether it was warm and sunny at the Horse shows or freezing cold during the Christmas Market.
He also was a giver of his time in helping us with VIP parking at Globalfest each August while his health permitted. This effort and his volunteerism allowed us to have our ShelterBox Canada tent on site during the event. ShelterBox Canada is a Project Partner of Rotary International that provides shelter to those in the world that are affected by disasters both through mother nature and civil unrest. The VIP parking volunteers through our club provided a ShelterBox Canada and Rotary exposure opportunity that was valuable in many ways. He is greatly missed.
