Condolences
My cousin Rod was in my life all these many years. He was supportive, kind, thoughtful, and always there with his great sense of humour, advice if you asked for it, and a ready ear if you just wanted to talk and be heard. He did not let his declining health keep him from staying in touch, and to the end, Rod remained true to himself, his values, and what was important to him. A dedicated Christian, he was well-grounded, clear and unambiguous in his values, faithful and lived as he believed. I had tremendous respect for him -- a life well-lived. I will always miss him, his wit, his kindness, and his presence in life. I can no longer pick up a phone and call him. He is gone. But my memories are fond, cherished, and vivid. God bless you, Rod, and I take solace in knowing that you have found peace and eternity in that "undiscovered country" we call heaven!
My first acquaintance with Rod was in the cleaning supply business and over the past 25 years we had a very close friendship. Joyce and I enjoyed many times of fellowship and food with Anne and Rod. Rod was always willing to go for a coffee and share the latest news. We shared many early morning prayer times and reading the Bible! Our prayers are with you Anne, and your family.

My friend Rod came into our lives in the spring of 1971 Straight of the boat from a career of Policing in Northern Ireland Rod was assigned to be my partner and show me the beats in Calgary we bonded instantly and remained friends up to his passing.
Rod always referred to me as Irish and enjoyed introducing us to life in Canada especially the importance of plugging your car in during winter months. Our children and grandchildren all refer to Rob as Uncle and we are proud to call him friend.
Rod you will be much missed. We know you are now at peace and looking down at us with that special smile. Rest in peace.

My colleagues and I who worked with Rod in “A” District during the early 70’s, would all agree that he was a kind, affable and dedicated police officer. Thank you Rod for your service to the citizens of Calgary. May you Rest In Peace.

My most heartfelt sympathy to you Anne. May you draw strength from the special memories you have of Rod. Thinking of you and knowing the heart ache you are enduring.
My condolences to the Beatty Family! I had the privilege to call Rod my friend. He was such a kind and loving person, with a great sense of humour! He will be missed greatly!
I met Rod when he was working at CPS as a Commissionaire. He was a great guy full of stories from the old days and wisdom for us young fellas who were smart enough to listen. Rod talked a lot about Anne so much so I almost felt like I knew her even though I never met her. I was able to meet up with him a few times after his retirement. Rob will be missed by all of those who met him.
Dear Anne - we are sending our sincere condolences in the passing of Rod. As children growing up we always looked forward to a visit from Uncle Lorne, Aunt Dorothy, and cousin Rod. We always had a good time. Love and Prayers Ron & Georgina
Anne,
Sending our condolences to you. You and Rod were such good neighbours while we were all in Citadel. Rod was always up for a chat and interested in what was going on in our lives. He had such a kind demeanour and could speak with ease on so many topics. He was one of the first true Calgarians I’d met and he knew so much about his city. We are sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss Anne. Rod was a good man. I liked him a lot and I will miss him a lot. I will miss our Breakfasts together as well. When it is safe to do so I would like you and I to go for breakfast. Thinking of you lots.

So sorry for your loss Anne. Our thoughts are with you. Hoping for safer times were we can get together and give you a hug. Sending you love for Christmas.
We are still in disbelief that ‘Uncle’ Rod is no longer with us... :-( He was such a great man and we truly have more memories than we can count with him since the time I was born. We had many dinners at Swiss Chalet and often he would want to visit so that I could ‘fix’ his cell phone. He was always so interested in our kids and how everyone else in the world was doing before himself. Uncle and Anne would come to every Event/Birthday/Wedding or any other celebration that they were invited to. We will never forget his amazing sense of humor right until the end. He was a grateful, selfless, humble man. We will miss him so much and we will keep our memories close... May he Rest In Peace now. Sending Love & light. xo
