Rodney (Rod) Glenn Beatty passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the age of 69 years.

Rod was born in Calgary and grew up in the Bowness area. He graduated from the Calgary Police in July 1971 (Class Number 47). He served six-and-a-half years with the Force before moving into a new career in sales. Rod came full circle in his later years when he worked security before his early retirement due to Parkinson’s. 

He will be remembered as a loving, outgoing, kind person, who loved the camaraderie with family and friends. 

He leaves to mourn his wife of twenty-three years, Anne, sister-in-law Sue (Bill) Floyd, and their children, Will (Jenny), Quinn, and Chris (Paula) of Texas; sister-in-law Pat Larkin of Southern Alberta and her two children, Cole and Alex; and many friends and family scattered across Canada. He was predeceased by his parents, Jack Beatty (1987), and Ruth Beatty (1996). 

A celebration of Rod’s life will be held at St. David’s United Church at a later date when it is safe to do so.
