Condolences
We are very saddened by this news and extend our sincere condolences to Bob and family. Shirley was a wonderful woman and we hope the fond memories you all have will help to ease your sorrow.
Dear Bob, Don, Melody and all of the Wharton family,
Tom and I were very sad to read of Shirley’s passing and we know that she will greatly missed. We remember her so fondly. She was just the kindest, nicest person you could ever meet. She and Bob were so good to us. As you will remember, we had many Sunday dinners with Bob and Shirley and Nana and Don and Melody and occasionally with Dave and others of you as well. The whole Wharton family made us feel so welcome. We both remember very well the various times that Tom and I went cross-country skiing with Bob and Shirley and then went for supper to their house, during the years that Don and Melody were in Guatemala. I remember in particular a ski into Lake O’Hara on a bright, sunny winter day with fresh, deep snow and not a soul in sight. It was spectacularly beautiful and Bob and Shirley were so in the moment. They were 25 years our seniors but they had no trouble keeping up. It was so much fun. Thank you for the wonderful memories, Bob, Don and Melody. Our hearts are with you at this time,
With love,
Marne and Tom Harding
Dave,
We were so sorry to read of you mothers passing. Clearly she had a wonderful life!
May your heavy heart be healed by all those who love you.
Memories… let them fill your mind, warm your heart, and lead you through.

My sincerest condolences on the passing of “Mrs. Wharton”. The Whartons lived across the alley from us in Willow Park and were very close friend of my parents. I remember the gardens that she had in her yard and her and my mother spending time together in the yard. She was such a nice lady and such great neighbours. My thoughts are with Bob and her family as they deal with their loss.
My deepest condolences to you Dave, Katie and Kelsey on the loss of your mother and grandmother. May you find comfort with wonderful memories of her.
I hope the new year is not too difficult for all of you and your father.
All the best from us, Sarabeth and Laurel.
Bob, I am so very sorry to hear of Shirley’s passing. Shirley was just a wonderful lady.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Bob, I believe Shirley was the nicest person I have ever met (sorry 4 years on the Board with you knocked you out of contention). Shirley was always smiling and pleasant to speak to, never a harsh word was heard from her and I always felt better whenever I met up with her. Shirley was that type of person who could make one think that maybe humans could be better than they make themselves out to be. The world is a lesser place when people such as Shirley leave us, but we are richer for our time with her and for that I am grateful. I hope you are doing well and I wish you and your family all the best during this trying time. Remember, it is better to have known and appreciated Shirley for what she was and what she left us with than to never have known her at all. We who have known her are all the luckier for it.
Dear Dave and family
My sincere condolences on the loss of your mother, Shirley.
Love and hugs

Grandpa & Family,
We know how much you must be devastated by the loss of your Shirley. On behalf of Leanne’s family, please accept our condolences and prayers. We were privileged and honoured to have been included in the light she shared with the world for so many years. The world was a kinder place because of her legacy and laughter. You both have a place in my heart forever.
