Condolences
I’m so sorry to hear of Bertha’s passing. She was my neighbor for 23 years in Calgary, and she was such a sweet, gracious woman. She and Fred took us out for Chinese food several times over the years to show their gratitude for small favours - favours we gladly did because they were such loveable people. I wish the children and grandchildren of this dear woman comfort and peace in knowing that Bertha’s was a life well lived. She is a bright, shining star in heaven now, watching over all of you.
Deepest condolences to Keith, Karen and Amy; extended family. Special memories of dinner with other singles at Fred and Bertha's home. Bertha was a very special lady and will be missed. Looking forward to seeing both Bertha and Fred on the other side one day. Prayers for the family and friend.
Our sincere condolence and sympathy to Karen, Keith and Amy on the passing of your mother and to all her grandchildren and extended family and friends. Bertha, the “hugs lady” was a dear friend and it is an honour and privilege to have known both her and and her husband Fred.
As a member of our church congregation she was a model of meekness and quiet strength; her loyalty was unwavering. Through thick and thin, good and bad, flourishing and discordant times she was steadfast in the faith. When trials beset fellow church
members it was assuring to know that she in solitude, petitioned the Creator on their behalf. She volunteered regularly and participated enthusiastically in worship singing, themed services, social occasions and many benevolent congregational initiatives. Her mere presence provided a sense of unity and that everything was going fine.
Bertha’s heart-warming personality, pleasant smile and gentle manner touched our lives and endeared us to her. We enjoyed the many occasions over the seasons that we were able to spend time in engaging in meaningful discussions, enjoying fellowship chit chat and enjoying back yard get-togethers. We’ve appreciated her insights and expressions of personal feelings during times when it really mattered.
So long to both you and Fred; both of you were genuine salt of the earth people…you
enriched our lives and will be sadly missed.
Very sincerely,
Ron and Cynthia Langlo
I was saddened to read that Berthe had passed away. We worked together at Encana and she was always so cheerful and calm! I still have the Christmas present she gave me, I'll treasure it even more now than I already did. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Mum I will miss that random call and the love flowing with it. To me you were a constant flow of calm energy. Whenever I came through Calgary you would insist I stay over, greeting us with your awesomely big squishy heart hug. I’m looking forward to the time when I see you and Fred again.
Sorrow not for a life well lived.
