Obituary of Fred Mathew LYCZEWSKI

January 18, 2021 - Three Hills, Alberta

Fred Lyczewski, beloved husband of Nelda Lyczewski (nee Bell), of Beiseker, AB, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021, at the age of 84 years.

Fred was born in Bow Island, AB on March 3, 1936. He moved to Beiseker, AB, at only two weeks old. Fred graduated from SAIT with his ticket in welding. He started farming at age sixteen and took over his parent’s farm when he was twenty-five years old. In the same year, 1961, he married Nelda Faith Bell. 

He was a member of the United Grain Growers, Equis, Beiseker Medical Building, and St. Mary’s Church. He was also a founding member of the Rockyview Gas Co-op. Fred accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his two children and four grandchildren. He enjoyed travelling, curling, and going to town for coffee. Fred’s holidays included visiting England, Trinidad, Tobago, Hawaii, Disneyland, the Yukon, Alaska, and Yuma several times. He will be most remembered for his kind heart, generosity, and willingness to help anyone who needed it.

Besides his loving wife of sixty years, Nelda, Fred is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Darryl and Sherry Lyczewski of Beiseker, AB; daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Gary Allen of Strathmore, AB; four grandchildren, Kurtis Lyczewski (Kellie), Kailey Lyczewski (Miranda), Austin Allen, and Mercedez Allen; and three great-grandchildren. 

A Private Family Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (Beiseker, AB) with an interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
