Condolences
My condolences to Michael’s family. Michael will be greatly missed. He was a gentle, kind and happy man, who could laugh easily, and enjoyed the beauty of nature around him.

Michael and William Marthold and Families -
I write to express to you and your family the sincere condolences of the Patricia’s on the passing of your Father Michael. It has been a long time since he served in the PPCLI, and yet when he spent his last months in the Colonel Belcher facility, it is a place the regiment has supported for many years. I and my wife both did stints in the canteen there when I was in 1 PPCLI in Calgary.
The Regiment remembers Michael's service, and your families I am sure are proud of that service. His name will be read in this year’s list of the lost when we read that list out on November 11th, 2021 in the Sacred Space in Beechwood, the National Military Cemetery, Ottawa. His name will also be listed in the 2021 edition of the Patrician’s Last Post section.
Thank you for obviously supporting Michael and being part of a vibrant family. His obituary certainly says so.
Should any of Michael's family want to maintain a connection with the Regiment, a gratis three year Memorial Membership in the PPCLI Association is available. Contact Mr Herb Kenny, the Membership Chairman, at hkenny@shaw.ca, for details.
Thank you all.
Brigadier-General Vince Kennedy (Retired)
Colonel of the Regiment
