Obituary of Mario PENNETTA

Mario Pennetta, beloved husband of Rosina Pennetta (nee Pittis), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021, at the age of 55 years.
 
Mario was born in Fossacesia, Abruzzo, Italy on May 30, 1965. He and his family immigrated to Calgary in 1966. He grew up in Huntington Hills, living three doors down from his future partner in crime, Rosina. They first met in grade 3 at St. Hubert Elementary School and continued to be classmates until they graduated from St. Francis High School in 1984. Throughout these years, he also met his best friends, Lucio, Renato, and Marco; the four musketeers. Mario started working as a sewing machine technician in the 1990s, where he was lucky to work alongside his brother-in-law, Steve. Mario accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his wife and children. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at picnics at Edworthy Park, and family holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving. In his free time, he loved to cook and watch soccer. Watching Italy win the World Cup in 2006 at his brother’s house was exceptionally rewarding. He also enjoyed playing video games and liked to read fantasy and sci-fi literature. While he longed to see his hometown again, he loved the mountains and Waterton National Park served as a yearly retreat for family vacations. 
 
Besides his loving wife of thirty years Rosina, Mario is survived by his daughter Sabrina, son Matteo, mother Andreina, brother Anthony (Stephanie) Pennetta, sister Nickie (Steve) Parton, nieces, Amanda (Kiel) Camponi, Melanie (Shawn) Parton, and Andrea (Ian) Parton; nephews, Luca and Alessio Pennetta; and his great-nephews, Michael and Kaide Camponi, and Caleb and Jayden Stang. Mario was predeceased by his father Paolo Pennetta.
