Condolences
Joan has been a wonderful friend for many years. We shared lots of good times in Moose Jaw and continued our friendship when we both ended up in Calgary. I will miss her and our lively conversations. My sympathy to the family.
As a little kid, I remember getting to stay overnight at Buffalo Pound. I was so excited! Then I saw a spider in the bunk house and wouldn’t go to sleep until Joan told me that spiders sleep at night so I would be safe. To this day, I don’t know if that is true, but I will always remember how kind she was to everyone! My condolences to the family.
I loved Joan so much!!!! She brought the sunshine with her everywhere she went and she always made everyone feel included and loved. I am going to miss her, and am sending big hugs to all of you xoxo

Art, Scott, Michael, Margaret and Families,
Very sad to learn of your Mom's passing. I feel immense gratitude for knowing and loving such a great lady!
I will remember her for her love and support she bestowed upon our family growing up in Moose Jaw. She was always there to lend a helping hand.
I admired her for her boundless energy and enthusiasm. In the early years, we had a drop in culture and everyone dropped in to the Brown's whether at the lake, in town or Palm Springs and Joan was always the gracious hostess whipping up meals that appeared to materialize out of nowhere. She made you feel that you were the most important person in her world.
I think she knew how much she meant to me. I will miss her dearly.
Joanne
Dear Margaret,
I am so sad to hear of your mother’s passing. I remember the summer “Brown” family gatherings at Buffalo Pound when Uncle Murray and Aunt Mary from Texas would come for a visit. Your mom and dad were the consummate hosts, treating us like part of the family. Your mother was always cheerful and warm, and as others have said – always had a smile. My condolences to you, your brothers, and your extended families.

Dear Artie, Scott, Michael, Margaret and Families
My deepest sympathies in the loss of your beautiful Mom. I have SO many fond memories of Joan - all of which bring a smile and a giggle to me. She was so engaged in life! Always smiling, always happy to see me, always interested in knowing all of the news - especially of family - she was genuinely interested in how and what my kids were doing.
I loved listening to Joan tell stories - pure entertainment- and she had MANY. Together with your Dad they had more adventures than any other 2 people I've ever met and Joan's retelling of those adventures was always hilarious! I'm so glad that I was able to share so many great times with Joan and be a recipient of her wonderful hospitality. I know you'll miss her as will I...
Much love to all of you during this sad time.
I have so many lovely memories of Joan, painting our toenails and sipping gin and lemonade out at the cottage by the water and how we would laugh and giggle. Getting all dolled up to go to a platinum plate dinner together, her helping me to learn how to cook and clean, shopping and chatting at the army and navy store, doing crafts with Artie, and many more. Even though years have gone by I have never forgotten Her kindness and love to me, and all she knew. She truly was a lovely, remarkable woman who will be missed by all but brightened the lives of all she touched. My deepest condolences to Artie, Scott, Michael, Margaret and families God bless and give you strength.

Our prayers are with the family of Joan at this sad time, we missed her cheerful phone calls and visits while she was living in Moose Jaw, Joan, Vern and Artie were our neighbours when they lived in the condo's on Chester Road in Moose Jaw, we grew quite close to them over this time, (missed the big boss (Vern)when he passed on) and we continued to have contact with Joan and Artie after they left the area. Nicer people would be hard to find. Her children and her grandchildren were the light and pride of her life. May Peace Follow Your Sorrow to all the family and God Bless. The Theriault's Bob and Roz.
Our deepest condolences to the Brown Family. .Joan was a beautiful person and will be missed by everyone who knew
and loved her.
Thank you Scott for the phone call and sharing memories of your Mom.
From the Nant Family.
Artie, Scott, Michael, and Margaret, I was saddened to learn that your mother had passed away and I send my deepest condolences. Joan was one in ten million with her incredible energy and vitality, and I don’t think I remember her ever being without a smile! Always about others and never herself, she gave so much love and warmth to the world. She supported my mother through her difficult times with unwavering devotion and compassion, for which I will be forever grateful. She touched so many lives. She leaves me with wonderful memories, and I am blessed to have known her.
Sharing in your sadness as you remember Joan -
Your Mom was a remarkable, energetic and wonderful woman -- so many memories to share:
Whether it was horseshoe tournaments at Buffalo Lake or Joan's Bridge Club with Thelma Elliott, Betty Koehler and Angie McCulloch - Joan was a natural-born hostess and entertainer!
The Bridge gals would love it when it was Joan's turn to host at her condo because Artie would entertain them with his musical tapes.
And of course, we were all jealous of Joan's sophisticated and classy wardrobe!!!!
Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs your way,
The Elliott family,
Thelma, Patty, Bill and Donna
Condolences to the family. My father was a friend of Vern Brown, but I didn't really get to know Mrs. Brown until I taught at Central and had the pleasure of working with two of her children. Mrs. Brown was a wonderful woman, and it was always a pleasure to have a visit with her. My sympathies are with you.

Artie, Scott, Michael, Margaret and families, so many happy memories of your mom and family go back a lifetime for me. I remember sitting around the bonfire nestled in my mother’s lap listening to conversations and laughter in your yard at the lake. Duke running around with Joker, they were the same size that summer. Visiting Buttons and Golden Boy and Goldy(?). Your mom was always smiling, getting out something to feed everyone and bustling about. Throughout these later years she always had a cheerful smile and conversation with me and I missed seeing her after her move to Alberta. It is not easy losing your mom, I know. Sending thoughts of comfort in all the great memories to you from Chris (Cole) and Mike Ward
Dear Artie, Scott, Michael and Margaret and families,
We are so sad to hear about the loss of your mother Joan. She was a wonderful lady and we have many memories of her and your family during the get-togethers in Moose Jaw and at the lake.
The horseshoe tournaments, Grey Cup celebrations, stew-dos, beef-in-the-pit suppers and many other occasions to hold a social event--our families knew how to celebrate!
We know Joan paid many visits to our mother during her last years and are sure Joan's sunny smile and cheerful disposition cheered mom. Joan will be missed by many.
Love and hugs from the Moulding's--Chuck and Carol, Mary and Rob, Don and Sandi, Deb, Billy, Kathy and Bob and families
So sorry to read of Joan's passing. She was such a wonderful lady. And always remembered me, as my Grandmother had the cabin next door at the lake. She was just a joy to he around.

Dave & Frances Luther Craik Sask. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
So sorry to hear of Joan's passing. Always enjoyed a visit with Joan. A fine lady to be sure !
There are so many special memories that we share with the family. Joan(and Vern) were great host, spoiling us as we spent the day swimming in the pool in Palm Springs. Many dinners and laughs over a glass of good wine but the best was the stories that she shared. No one could tell a story like her, as we sat hanging onto every word. A classy and gracious woman. She will be missed.
