Sandi enjoyed driving long distances and travelled a great deal independently. She especially loved her long stays in Corozal, Belize - the warm climate and the friendly people both local and ex-pats. One of her favourite things to do was to take part in the Corozal Animal Program. This organization helps people who want to sterilize their animals but can’t afford to. They operate on donations to educate the community on the care needed by their pets as well as promote adoptions. Immunizations and other medical services are done by visiting veterinarians.

Sandi also enjoyed the village festivals especially at Christmas with the beautiful light displays. She loved visiting the outdoor art festivals and seeing the work of local artists.
