Obituary of Dr. Louis Antoine GRONDIN

February 16, 1952 – Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Quebec
February 27, 2021– Calgary, Alberta

Louis Grondin, beloved husband of Zorica Grondin (nee Dabic), of Calgary, AB, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, he peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the age of 69.

Dr. Louis Grondin was a force of nature. Louis was a brilliant surgeon, a scholar, a musician, and a world traveller with an immeasurable passion for life.

He was born in Quebec and was the fifth generation of medical doctors. After a trip to the mountains in his youth, Louis decided to make the west his home. “God’s country,” he lovingly called it.

A lover of wisdom, Louis was a modern renaissance man; a man for all seasons who loved life to its fullest, and his larger than life personality touched so many people.

As a physician, Louis’s dedication and care for his patients was endless. He always went above and beyond to ensure everyone around him was taken care of.

Whether it be skiing, hiking and enjoying nature, tending to his green house, playing his guitars or spending time with his grandkids, he brought a sense of magic to all that he did and was always the life of the party.

Besides his wonderful wife Zorica, Louis is survived by his four children, Michael, Mitra, Niki (Brent) and Colin (Nazanin); his two grandchildren Wyatt and Beckett; his siblings, Jean (solange), Marie-Pierre, Bernard and Michel; and his nephews, Paul Matthieu and Emmanuel.

Louis was always ready for an adventure and this marks the beginning of his newest one.
