Condolences
I am so sorry to hear about Yolanda’s passing. I have very fond memories of spending time with her while at university in Edmonton. My sincere condolences to all of her family and friends.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I was a patient of Yolanda. She helped me to be free of chronic pain after years of seeing different doctors and specialists. I don't know what I would have done without her help, and I still depend on the self-treatments she taught me to this day. I'll never forget her.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of Yolando Loo, a vibrant innovative enormously caring professional. My deceased husband was her patient, one of the few specialists who cared for men's pelvic health in the area. Every month he would drive from Red Deer to be treated by her, allowing him to return to his beloved hockey and work miraculously, since she was able to "untie the internal knots". After his invasive cancer surgery to remove a grapefruit sized tumour followed by radiation at the Mayo clinic, I drove him to the appointments for several months, because he needed to lay in the back of the truck. He always did the homework she suggested and managed to visit her on his own monthly. She was so convincing and calming with high expectations, he never missed an appointment. I seem to recall fondly my first vision of her beauty and stature in tall black stiletto boots like a Charlie's Angel TV character with a very confident skill, knowledge, and amazing strength. His recovery would not have been as successful without her and am truly grateful for her. I extend my sincere condolences to her close and extended family, friends, colleagues, staff, and patients. She will be truly missed. RIP Yolanda. Laura MacKay June 2, 2021.
I am so very sorry to hear of your families tremendous loss. I was a patient of Yolanda’s and was so grateful for the help I received from her. She was so highly respected from my referring doctors and was clearly one of the best in her field.
Such a tremendous loss of such a beautiful soul.
Deepest sympathies,
Debbie
I just learned of your loss, my deepest and sincerest condolences. While I did not bump into her too frequently in person, we had so many patients in common and she was instrumental in helping so many of them. I had unending faith in her abilities in doing the specialized work that she did. She will be greatly missed.

My heart is full of love for Yolanda, her family and friends. She was my beautiful friend, classmate and colleague. I met Yolanda at U of A PT Program. Actually she was one of the first people I met as we waited to be interviewed to get into the program. I thought to myself, 'my God, she is beautiful' and it didn't take long for me to learn that her inner beauty surpassed the outer beauty. She helped get me through the program and was part of my core study group of Yolanda, Corina Kerrison and myself. I played rec volleyball with her, she was a much better player than I but it was just fun being with her. She is dearly missed by my parents, Dudley & Sylvia Gerry and my sister Janet Gerry. Yo and I got our belly buttons pierced on 17th Ave in Calgary and Janet, already donning a jeweled navel, came along for moral support. Yo's belly button ring ended up popping out, probably when she was laying out at v-ball games and so active. I cherished her adventurous spirit, courage and mischievous sense of humour. She briefly worked with me at the Chronic Pain Centre and then her independent spirit guided her towards private practice. She treated my Dad by ZOOM May 2020 and my family is so grateful. I hate to think that she suffered in emotional pain and I hope that Yolanda has found peace & freedom. To me she will always be a free spirit, like a real life Charlie's Angel who rides a motorcycle, plays beach volleyball and heals people. In other words, she was capable of doing whatever she set her mind to and had a generous spirit. She was a rare bird. I did a sketch of Yolanda and I would like to share it with you, if possible. Sending you love and courage, Kate Gerry

I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to Yolanda's family, friends, colleagues and patients. Yolanda referred many patients to me in the 6 years since I have known her. And we had many conversations about persistent pain over the years. I have heard nothing but praise for her compassion, understanding, expertise and skill. She will be greatly missed.

I am so sad about the passing of this beautiful woman. I met her almost 20 years ago when I was a physiotherapy student at Southland Physio
Clinic and had the opportunity to shadow her in her pelvic health practice. Fast forward many years later I started working in the area of Women’s Pelvic health and ran into her at courses and different pelvic health gatherings. I last saw her in July 2020 at a course and we had many great chats and laughs. I am thankful for her laugh, knowledge and encouragement to me as a clinician and friend.
My deepest sympathies to her family and friends.
Praying for you as you reflect on her life.
You will be missed. I celebrate your life Yo ❤️
My heart goes out to the Loo family. I was in Yolanda's Physiotherapy class at U of A, and then saw her often at gatherings for Pelvic Health Physiotherapists in Calgary. I remember her encouraging me when I first started practicing Pelvic Health and giving me advice on how to get started in that field. I greatly admired her for the hard work she had done, particularly in men's health. I've heard from patients and other therapists about what an incredible practitioner and co-worker she was to them. She will be deeply missed by the whole community. My sincere condolences to the Loo family.
My condolences to the Loo family. I didn't know Yolanda that well, but she played on my volleyball team for a couple years when she was in Edmonton. She was a great girl and teammate.
Those of us who grew up in Lethbridge have heard of and kept up each other via siblings/cousins/friends over the years. I am glad that she has a positive influence on all that knew her.
I was deeply saddened to hear of Yolanda's passing. She was my physiotherapist in 2006 and most recently this past August. Her caring and vibrant spirit made a lasting impression on me. I will miss her.
To her family I send my heartfelt condolences.
My deepest Condolences to the Loo family. I met Yolanda when I was in the 3rd year of physiotherapy schooling at the U of A. We were partnered up at the 2001 World Track and Field Games in Edmonton and hit it off immediately. As time progressed, Yo and I ended up running into one another at various courses and get-togethers for the profession of pelvic floor physiotherapy. When I decided to enter Men's pelvic health Yolanda was there to encourage me. I have texted her over the last year several times to learn from her expertise, I am not sure what I am going to do without her literally at my fingertips. She was an amazing colleague and friend.
Yolanda was a pioneer of men’s health, particularly those with prostate cancer. She and I made an excellent team in this area and there is no one who will be to replace her contribution to this field. She will continue to influence me in my practice caring for prostate cancer survivors, long beyond her short but impactful time on this earth. I wishing her and her family peace and I am thankful to have known her.
I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Yo. I had the pleasure of working with her and she was always full of so much joy and energy. We had many good times together outside of work that I will treasure forever. My condolences go out to her family and friends at this difficult time. You will be missed Yo. Rest easy xoxo
Yo will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her, she had a tremendously positive impact on anyone she met. Rest in peace Yo, love you.
My deepest condolences on the loss of such a wonderful woman. I worked with Yolanda for many years at Southland Physio and was always taken by her smile and joyful willingness to help others. One of my favorite memories of Yo is when she decided to get her motorcycle license. She was so excited to go to the classes and get her first motorcycle. When she found the one she wanted, she and I went to have a look and she asked me if I could do the test ride for her to make sure everything was safe. I remember thinking this was an awfully powerful motorcycle for a beginner, but that was Yolanda, happy to make the adventure as big as possible. You will be sorely missed Yo, I wish you God speed and take solace in the idea that you will be watching over us with that ever present enthusiasm that I remember. Udo Kaufmann
I had the pleasure of working with Yolanda for over 5 years and she became a true friend during that time. She was always there for her friends, and her fun and caring personality will truly be missed. My condolences to her family during this time.
