Condolences
I was very saddened by finding out Daryl had passed, I had been searching for him off and on for years with no success. Daryl and I were best friends in elementary school back in Notre Dame in Jasper Place Edmonton. One time some mean kids were bugging Daryl and I had to intervene , I stood up for him and he never forgot. He was quite stalky compared to me, a skinny kid, so it was Daryl that stood up for me many times later. In grades 2-6 we were best buddies and did lots together. His adoptive parents always had him doing chores around the house and I remember helping him lots so we could go to the drug store a few blocks away to buy our dinky cars, that is what they were called way before hot wheels. We also spent our little change on the little army men that we would order from the back of comics and we were back to the drug to pick them up when they came in. When grade 7 came along we went to St.Thomas Moore Jr. High School for 3 years together. From there we went on to St Joe's High. This is when we drifted apart, he chose to get out to work while I stayed in school. But from time to time we would hang out. He was able to get a nice car and I was always willing to cruise around with him. I eventually moved to BC and one day he sought me out in Maple Ridge and we were reconnecting for a bit and then we sort of went our separate ways. I heard he may have found his real family and was so very happy for him. He was truly a special friend to me and I will never forget our friendship, you were one of the best people in my life Daryl. If we could just have 1 more game of pool, maybe even finally beat you. My condolences to all the people that were in his life at the end of his journey, I know what you are missing, he was a very good man. RIP my good buddy.
