Obituary of Darryl Lee BIG PLUME

August 5, 1956 – March 7, 2021

It is with great sadness, the Big Plume family announces the loss of Elder Darryl Lee Big Plume of Tsuut’ina Nation, AB on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the age of 64 years.

Darryl was born on August 5, 1956. Darryl had many interests throughout his life and was always known to carry knowledge about all different kinds of interesting subjects. At a young age, Darryl found his ultimate interest and love for cars and hot-rods. His devotion to cars lead him to be an extremely skillful mechanic, as he always enjoyed working on his cars. Darryl will always be lovingly remembered for his love of his dogs and cat. His devotion to his animals and unique connection with his dog DJ will forever be treasured.  

Darryl is survived by his mother Faith Big Plume, his siblings, Anita, Shane (Lisa), Cowboy, Shirley (Donald), and Jimmy; daughter Andrea Big Plume, grandson Ko’en, aunties, Joan Pascoe, Carol Gottfriedson and Connie Big Plume; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Darryl was predeceased by his spouse, Donna Anderson; grandparents, Chief Dick and Lucy Big Plume; step-father Jim Caulder, auntie Gail Parsons, uncles, Jacko Big Plume, Jeremy Big Plume, Austin Big Plume, Robert Dodginghorse and Benjamin Big Plume; cousins, Vivian Dodginghorse, Jeremy Big Plume and Charmaine Heavyrunner.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on March 10, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank-you to Michelle Jacobs, Veronica Grosariu and the Tsuut’ina Health and Social Wellbeing Programs for their support and dedication. Thank you for going the extra mile to provide excellent care.
