Dear Deb, Matt, and Alana
Dale was a man who put family, friends and others above all else. He made going to work fun, and his optimism always prevailed whenever odds were stacked against him. His sense of humor is what we will miss the most though. His laugh, quick wit, and joking around have provided us with some great memories and we are better people for it. He taught us to make wine, find a deal, save money, but most importantly to laugh at ourselves. Our deepest sympathies to your entire family.
Our thoughts are with you, and we are lucky to call you our friends.

Dear Deb, Matt, and Alana,
So many have captured the essence and impact of your amazing husband (Deb) and kind / generous father (Matt, Alana). Our relationship started via Cominco Fertilizers in 1989. As a new Sales Supervisor on the road and working from a home office, having Dale as our point person in the Calgary office made all the difference. He was a skilled systems trainer and I came to realize that Dale’s character and personality set the tone for the entire sales organization. Linda and I first met Deb at a Christmas social and ever since the Schafer’s have been role model’s and dear friends. During a recent visit with Dale and Deb, Dale’s character and passion about people and how to make the world a better place continued to shine through with his own suffering just a side note. We pray that you are able to find God’s peace and strength during this difficult time. Love, Don & Linda
Dear Deb and family

Deane and I want to extend our condolences to Dale’s family at this time of sorrow. We spent many times with Dale and will always remember the great person he was. There couldn’t have been a more cordial and funny host at the many functions we were able to attend.

A true nice guy with a smile was how I will remember Dale. My condolences to all his family and close friends, as his cheery outlook on life will be missed. Have one more Grey Cup party up there, some of the ones here were so memorable and fun.
Condolences to you, Deb and family. I met and worked with Dale in the 1960’s when we were co-workers with a former employer. His demeanor over the years certainly never changed. His humour, optimism, never one to be shy of cutting a deal, and always willing to laugh at himself. He was just a fun guy to be with. May your fond memories help to ease the pain of your huge loss.
To Deb and family.
I am so sorry to hear that Dale has
passed away. Please accept my condolences.

I will always remember Dale as Mr. Positive regardless of the circumstances. He was a great asset to all of us.
Dale was a glowing human being full of the best things one could ever offer: Love, humour, kindness and joy. Others were attracted to him due to his warmth, compassion and humility. Dale’s “bubble” of joy followed him everywhere he went and others wanted to be infected with such joy and were eager to follow him. Your courage and “can-do” attitude, even in the face of such daunting odds, will always inspire us, Dale. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Deb and all of Dale’s entire Family as you mourn your loss and find solace in your many memories that he left as gifts to each and every one of you.
To Deb and all Dale’s family, my deepest sympathy. Dale was a special person, he really cared about people. It showed in every relationship including with his co-workers and customers. Being around Dale was just fun. Admittedly he could be a bit stubborn but always with the best intentions, and a bit of a laugh and good humor, the things that get people through good times and hard times. I am so sorry for your loss.
Deb and Family – I wish to pass on our family’s condolences on the passing of Dale. I did enjoy Dale’s dry wit, his kindness and love of family. We had a few memorable family gatherings together and I will remember these fondly. Please give the kids a hug from me and Caryl. I will see you at the funeral. Respectfully Bob Buchanan
I was so sad to learn of Dale’s passing. Even though I have not seen or spoken to him in a while, I can still hear his chipper voice and sly jokes! It was always fun to work with him. He left far too soon, but left plenty of memories while he was here. What a gift to haven experienced his company. My sympathies to his family and friends.
Deb and family, we are deeply saddened to hear of Dale’s passing and we will miss him dearly. We’ll fondly remember Dale’s sense of humour, his positive attitude and of course that engaging laugh that could brighten any room and any situation. We hope you find comfort and peace in the many memories your family shares. We’ll of course, cherish the memories of our early days in Calgary with Dale and the many good times and many laughs we shared over the years.
Sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Hugs
Cheryl and Glenn
We have many fond memories of Dale over the many years we have been privileged to have known him. Most recently, a month or so ago, while Steen was in hospital I visited Dale and Deb in their home. He expressed concern about me living on my own and said I should get a security gate and be sure to look after myself. Showing concern for me even while he himself faced such severe health issues was just what Dale did. He was a very special person for sure and we will miss him. He was truly a great guy. Our kindest regards to Deb and all the family.
