Condolences
So many great memories of the Bronco trips and all the fantastic places we all went. Memories of the Stampede, Banff, Lake Louise, day trips and all the family get togethers over the years between Canada and Scotland. God bless you uncle John. You were the best husband to Biddy and I am so thankful that she had you as her partner in crime. You will leave a massive void behind and I am sad for you and Biddy that you had to leave so soon. Love you ‘twinnie’ and thinking of you today and keeping you in my prayers. Lots of love. Lynne xxx
I came to Calgary from Scotland nearly 4 years ago and I met John and Betty at a Burns Supper 3 years ago. They made me so welcome and immediately we became firm friends and the more I got to know them the more I admired them.John was a real gentleman. I found him to be a quiet, kind and gentle man, one of the best. They both took me into their circle of friends and I bless the day I met them both.
John will be greatly missed, when we were marching wie the Maxwell Pipe Band John was always there carrying the flag, if a wanted to know something aboot Scottish history, a wee date here a wee date there, John was the man to ask, John was the quiet Historian, a modest unassuming Scottish Gentleman, we drove to aw`the wee toons in Southern Alberta aye an`up tae Sundrie wie the Band it`wiss a guid time. Rest In Peace John, keep a place it the dinner table, keep the porridge warm.
Betty,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of John. I will always remember his smile and his witty humour. My thoughts and love go out to you and your family.

My uncle John was the kindest soft spoken man I had ever met. He always had a smile for you, would sit quietly in the background but he was the wheels that kept his family in motion. He was the glue that kept them all together.
He adores my Auntie Betty always has and always will. He loves his family unconditionally and would do anything for them Magnus and Nadene are blessed to have had him in their lives. Uncle John was a quiet gentle man but had a great wit and great sense of humour and would help anyone that needed it. I’m sure he will continue to guide his family from above just like he has always done. He is loved by so many and will be greatly missed. Heaven has just gained another one of our Angels. Rest easy uncle John and watch over us until we meet again. Love you Michelle x
